Grace is back with more 'splash-tastic' lessons! 🏊‍♀️

Following the fantastic success of our Summer Holiday Intensive Lessons, we’re excited to welcome Grace back for another week of fun, focused swimming! 💦

📅 Monday 26th – Friday 30th October
🏊 5 days of intensive lessons
🌟 Perfect for building confidence, developing skills and refining technique

⏰ 8.30am – Suitable for new non-swimmers and our current Red Swimmers
⏰ 9am – Suitable for children who can swim a short distance unaided using a number of strokes, including children currently in our Amber and Green classes

Here at Liskeard Leisure Centre we will be offering FREE gym taster sessions, cardio and dance classes, pickleball and badminton! While you are here, ask about our other regular fitness sessions which take place across our gym, sports hall, and fitness studios!

Two new cardio dance classes hit Liskeard Leisure Centre!

Our Wednesday morning dance fit classes will be a lower-impact joint-friendly option, while Friday evening's classes will be more energetic, and set in an interval style. We will alternate between dance cardio and dance toning tracks to give you a full-body workout!

2 Days remaining to register for the Cornwall Club Games.

Our Games brings together individuals over 60+ who would be interested in a FUN Competition of walking sports of cricket; football, netball and pickleball.

Join us on Tuesday 29th September at Bodmin Leisure Centre, 9am - 5pm. Entry is £4.50
There will be free refreshments pasties, as well as participation medals, winning team sports and overall winners.

Ladies Poolside Changing Room closure - Friday 11th September ⚠️

In order to complete our wet-side changing rooms upgrade, the ladies poolside changing room will be closed on Friday 11th September.

Female pool customers are asked to come "beach-ready", or may use the dry-side changing rooms upstairs. No other areas of the Centre are affected. The locker area remains open as always.

Liskeard Leisure Centre sincerely apologises for any inconvenience this may cause, and asks for customers forebearance over this weekend. If any issues arise, please do seek out a member of staff.

Why do we use object collecting, floating and sinking toys in Swimming Lessons? 🧸🌊

It might look like simple play (and it is fun!), but every activity is carefully designed to build essential swimming skills.

When children collect sinking objects, they’re learning to:

💨 Control their breathing
👀 Feel confident underwater and orientate themselves
💪 Build strength and coordination
🌊 Become comfortable moving beneath the surface

And floating toys have a purpose too! They encourage:

🙌 Reaching and stretching
⚖️ Balance and body position
🦵 Kicking and forward movement
🏊 Confidence moving independently through the water

Every activity in the pool helps build safety, skill and confidence step by step.
