What a Start for Our Junior Competitions!

A huge well done to all our junior golfers who took part in yesterday’s competition.

It was fantastic to see juniors aged from 7 to 17 getting involved, enjoying their golf and competing against each other. The event was a great success, with everyone agreeing that more junior competitions should definitely be planned!

There were some great scores over the 9 holes, with congratulations going to:

🥇 1st Place – Taylor Martin – 28 points
🥈 2nd Place – Otis Heybourn – 21 points

Well done, Taylor and Otis, and congratulations to everyone who took part! 🎉

📅 Our next Junior Competition will be held on Sunday 11th October and is open to all junior members.

DAY 3 – AUTUMN MAINTENANCE WEEK 🌱

The boys are cracking on with the same work as yesterday!

The greens have been cored and topdressed, and now comes the slightly less glamorous job of getting all those cores cleared up…

Enter Luke! 😂

Luke has been getting stuck into the dirty work, clearing up the cores and getting the greens looking tidy again. Well... someone’s got to do it!

And once Luke’s done his bit, Gary is following up with the blower, making sure there’s nothing left behind.

DAY 2 – AUTUMN MAINTENANCE WEEK 🌱

Following on from yesterday’s coring, today Grant and the team have been getting plenty of sand down on the greens.

You can see the Turfco topdresser in action in the videos, spreading a layer of sand across the greens to help fill those holes and improve the playing surface.

It might not look pretty just yet… 😅 but it’s all part of the process and will pay dividends as the greens recover and grow.

Autumn Course maintenance week is officially underway at Littlehampton Golf Club!

Over the next few days, our Head Greenkeeper Grant will be taking you behind the scenes and keeping you up to date with what’s happening out on the course.

And we’re kicking things off with our first update 👇

Grant talks us through the coring of the greens, with the Toro ProCore being used to remove cores and help improve the playing surface. You might see a few holes in the greens for now, but this is an important part of keeping them healthy and performing at their best.

We’ll be bringing you more updates throughout the week, so you can see what the team are getting up to and why each job is important.
