Training employment service have a ONLINE Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant course available that started on 21st September but can we still accept referrals to start on Monday 28th September. It is for Liverpool City Region residents aged 19+ who have lived in the UK for 3+ years.

The SEND Teaching Assistant Skills Bootcamp has been designed around the Skills England Occupational Standard for Teaching Assistants and it prepares learners to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stages 1–4 in mainstream schools, specialist settings, specialist resource bases and alternative provision. Learners develop the knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to support inclusive learning, promote positive educational outcomes and progress into employment as a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant.
It runs for 7 weeks, 3 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 9.30am-3.30pm per day (with flexibility for parents picking up/dropping off children at school or nursery) and is mainly delivered ONLINE over Microsoft Teams with just 2 face to face days at the start of the program and 2 face to face days at the end (for induction and for Paediatric First Aid Training.
You will gain these qualifications:
Level 3 Learning Beyond the Classroom
Level 3 Certificate in Early Years Special Educational Needs
Level 2 Safeguarding
Paediatric First Aid (4 -16 years)
We also help with a DBS check and on week 6 of the program, learners do 20 hour live work placement in order to gain work experience plus there is a guaranteed job interview at the end of the program (the work experience will be really valuable for the job opportunity along with qualifications).
