Once again blessed by the weather we headed out to Stanage Edge for some further outdoor climbing practice! 🧗‍♂️

Under the guidance of our HUMS expert Seb, we improved important anchor building and gear placement skills on the road to full-on trad climbing!

Huge thanks to all who came out, there was a strong positive attitude and great vibes throughout the entire day :)

Some amazing views on our most recent HUMS 10 mile hike in Castleton (Peak District) hosted by our amazing walking secretary George! ⛰️

This amazing route included numerous famous features including The Great Ridge, Mam Tor, The Broken Road and Winnat’s Pass. 🥾

Wales Trip 2026! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⛰️

As always, a huge thanks to all our amazing members who came along for this adventure; exploring, walking and climbing for whole weekend! 🧗‍♂️

HUMS Lake District Trip 2025!

Hiking, socialising and sock wrestling; HUMS have done it all this past weekend! We travelled down on Friday 21st before trekking up Helvellyn on Saturday and Catbells on the Sunday ⛰️

Some spotty weather but nothing a rain jacket and a good attitude couldn’t handle! Thanks to all who came for making it an amazing experience for everyone :)

🦆 Sunday 2nd - Well Being Walk along the Canal - Meet at the SU Shop at 10am, Wear comfortable footwear, bring lunch and a waterbottle, We should be back at uni at around 3:30pm

🎆 Wednesday 5th - Watching Fireworks from Castle Hill - Meet us at the SU Shop at 8pm to head up Castle Hill to watch the fireworks! Wrap up warm, Wear appropriate footwear

🍻 Monday 10th - The Grove - This week we will be heading to The Grove instead of Warehouse to try out a new venue! We will be walking as a group from FreekLime at 9pm

🧗‍♀️ Wednesday 12th - NUBS Round 2, Blochaus Manchester - Timings and info TBD - keep an eye out on insta and the group chat

🏔 Monday 21st to 23rd - THE LAKE DISTRICT TRIP! - This is one of our big trips of the year, we will be heading to the Lake District for some big hikes, these will be more challenging so we do recommend you have some hiking experience before joining. More info will follow in the group chat and in another post

🃏 Monday 24th - Card Games Night - We will head to our Social Secs house for a fun night of card games at 9:30pm or straight from Freeklime!
