HEALTH IS WEALTH 💆🏻‍♀️
My time at JD Gyms had come to an end but this means more time for myself and my business.
Working 3 jobs meant that I had no time for myself, I was overworked and I was too fatigued to train. I had forgotten that my own health was just as important as my clients, I even forgotten how to chill 😅
Back on plan, new goals and ready to execute them 🥊

Throwing it back to cutting days!
Cannot wait to start my cut soon 🤩
Currently focussing on some programme designing and it’s looking pretty intense! Exciting things to come 😝

What to do with this kind of information?
Finding out what your TDEE will give you an indicator the amount of energy YOUR body requires. And the major contributor to your TDEE is your basal metabolic rate which is very much dependent on your age, height, weight, body composition and any health conditions.
Moving more consistently will contribute a good portion of your calories burned too.
Find out what your estimate TDEE is and you’re off to a good start already 👍🏼

PRACTISE MAKES PROGRESS 📈
Execute a handful of exercises for a long period of time and you will become stronger. Just like when you start a new job, you’re not going to be good at it straight away, with experience you will become more confident and skilled. Jumping between different jobs it is more difficult to progress. Same applies in weight training.
transformation is her progress on tempo eccentric push ups, initially she wasn’t able to go down without her knees and her core was not controlled. Now, her core and upper body is stronger, she’s able to do an actual push up!!
Well done Alice super proud of you ☺️💯

This is your reminder that what you see on social media is not 100% real.
Honestly some of these filters look ridiculous and it makes me sad that this may be one of the reasons for an individuals mental and physical well-being.
We all have some sort of insecurities but find time to make peace and love your body for what it does for you, it helps you run, dance, feel strong and powerful.
I’ve had my fair share of insecurities in the past but honestly now, I thank my body for being healthy.
I love being original!

Honestly, I used to think of this about myself.
Before and even the journey of weight training, I used to wish I had a smaller waist and I hated how wide my shoulders were. I even bought into buying a “waist trainer” to shrink my waist.
I can’t change my bone structure, but I can change how I feel about myself. Now I can do real push ups (I hate how people call it “lady push-ups” for knee ones) my legs are stronger than most men 🐥 and my ass is rock solid! And you know what, I would choose to be strong anyday!
I want my clients to feel the same, and most of them I am training them to become stronger, be able to do a real push up, chin ups, squat heavy af!
Most importantly, be kind to yourself! You and your body deserves so much self love ❤️

Often men and women ask me this question, and often it’s an answer they’re not expecting.
There is no specific exercise to get rid of belly fat!
Any core machines and exercises will strengthen your core, but you will not see those abs unless your body fat percentage is low enough. How do we make this lower?
Either be in a caloric deficit or move more.
If you’re not sure on where or how to start on either of these, there are calculators on finding out what your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), these are estimates but it’s a good starting point!
Not a fan of counting calories? Switch up your coke for diet, condiments for low fat/sugar/salt, switch up your lunch for a salad instead, portion control your foods.
If you’re still unsure on how to start, remember baby steps! Message me for any questions or advice on this!
Future posts on energy balance coming soon!

I rarely record my clients because honestly I forget 😅 this was the first time training together/PT and this made me feel so proud I had to record. hadn’t step foot in a gym for 3 years and this was her first time squatting with more than 20kg on her back. Here she’s executed almost 50kg 😱 parallel! 🚀
Big things to come for Mai Vi!!

Nervous about the gym? Not going to lie I was nervous yesterday conducting my first JD class! But you guys made me feel comfortable and I had a blast with you all!
It’s perfectly normal to feel out of your depth when stepping foot to the gym. But trust me, no one is watching you, no one is judging you. They are only looking at themselves in the mirror and judging on how good they look 😍

To feel more comfortable in the gym, try to use resistance machines, these often have instructions on how to use them.

Bring a friend! Workout, catch up and get a sweaty together!

Chat to one of us personal trainers to help with your goal and technique - apologies for my resting bitch face but honestly I’m a nice person 😅

Back on track after abit of a lockdown slum.
Taking it one step at a time, drink that extra glass of water, take a detour from your usual walk. For me, getting in my protein for breakfast.
Slowly and steady wins the race right? 😁🐢
