Fortunate enough to work with a top group every year

From morning groups, some nasty 300โ€™s, 121 rehab sessions and afternoon groups on the pitch itโ€™s been a busy one ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

But lucky that I get to call this โ€œworkโ€ and grow every off season ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

Challenge your repeatability this off season ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Simply running in straight lines for 4 weeks then expecting to return back into your club pre season program is a recipe for disaster.

As we near the last couple weeks I like to mimic training themes and physical demands. Meaning these sessions all have a purpose, no tick box drills, aimlessly shooting in to empty nets - a football based approach to our strength, speed & conditioning every off season ๐Ÿ”‘

Meaning all lads are more than prepared for those large spike in high intensity actions when they return for pre season.

Key things to consider during the off season in the gym โคต๏ธ

A key theme during my off season programs using isometrics

Progressing from yielding to more overcoming as lads near pre season return.

Youโ€™ll see examples of players at different stages in their off season based on the isometrics programmed individually.

Other aspects include braking RFD, extensive plyometrics,frontal plane work and tissue tolerance around the foot and ankle as loads outside are increased.

It doesnโ€™t come from just running in straight lines for 6 weeks during the off season.

The off season should be about laying foundations
