Cardio is good.
It has many benefits.
So, do it ๐
Just donโt do it INSTEAD of steps.
A common mistake is ticking off training sessions, cardio sessions and then sitting on your arse for the rest of the week, thinking youโve done the work.
If fat loss is the primary goal, then keeping activity high over the course of the week is critical.
Iโve coached lads who havenโt done a lick of formal cardio, and have a six pack in just a few weeks.
Thatโs because their training, diet and activity were on point.
Those are the fundamentals.
Once theyโre in place, then look to add cardio in as a tool to accelerate your progress.
Just donโt neglect your activity level in favour of a couple of cardio sessions each week.

If youโve never seen your abs, itโs easy to think you never will

This is what Anrai said to me 2 weeks into his transformation.
He messaged me in a panic thinking heโd ruined his transformation before it even got started.
As it turns out, Anraiโs โf**k upโ was nothing more than ordering a Chinese when he hadnโt planned on it.
He asked me what he needed to do to make up for it.
โNothingโ
There was nothing to correct, nothing to punish and nothing to put right.
In his mind, he needed to start over.
Itโs perfectly natural to think an unplanned occurrence needs correcting, but the issue comes when we think itโs terminal.
If youโre forever starting again, you never get going.
Starting again comes with that association of failure.
โHere we go againโ
You put all that s**t onto yourself.
Suddenly, a Chinese meal youโre supposed to enjoy, ends up with you calling yourself a failure.
It really shouldnโt be that way.
We talked it through and I explained to Anrai how moments like these are not only common, theyโre necessary.
We need to incorporate things we enjoy.
We need to allow for life to get in the way.
Thatโs a big part of the success clients have with the T90 program - they donโt have to be perfect!
It means they have a margin for error.
They have freedom to have a drink at the weekend or a meal out for a leaving do, without thinking theyโve fu**ed everything up.
Yes, you have to work hard and make sacrifices, but by planning and reacting positively, you allow yourself the chance to be consistent.
And consistency leads to results.
Once Anrai freed himself from shackles, he kicked on to get the result you see in the photo -

All while enjoying good food and a few bevvies now and then.

Great to have T90 client in yesterday
Alan has been working with me Online now for just under 6 months and has lost an incredible 33lbs.
Heโs been bang on with his consistency from day one.

โBefore working with Mike, my progress was being hindered by bad habits and a lack of consistency.
I started the T90 program with the intention of ironing out those bad habits and getting in the best shape I possibly could over the 90 days.

๐ก โ๏ธThese lads all did one thing ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎ important thing that most lads wonโt doโฆ
They all started at a difficult time:
Specific junctures in their lives or times of the year where lads typically donโt start
โฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธ

Chris started dieting, even though his football season had started and that would place demands on his energy
โ
Ste started, even though he knew he had a holiday halfway through
โ
Bryan started, even though he was changing job roles
โ
Jonny started during Lockdown, even though there were no gyms open
All these lads had very different and very valid reasons to put off making a start
They started anyway
They started because they recognised that there will always be a reason to not start
They started because their desire to change was more important than anything else
Not only did they start, but they all got incredible results and continue to do so today

As we push on, out of the summertime and towards Christmas, itโs very easy and convenient to start to wind the year down
Itโs very easy to tell yourself that now is not the best time to start
