Wavertree Cricket Club

Sunday just before 9am. DG, those who know know. Thanks to him and his equivalents at so many clubs, cricket continues to be enjoyed by so many.

Not sure if its happened before but yesterday we had two two hundred partnerships at the club. Comprising of a 90 not out 2 undefeated tons and a knock of 142. All 4 lads products of the clubs junior system. We might not rival those clubs on the field with the wealth to pay players ( and good luck to those who can do so sustainably btw) but we are proud to be a club that invests in developing young people. Thanks as always to our incredible volunteers.

One of the fantastic things about the brilliant offer for women at our club is that milestones come so thick and fast that its possible to miss them. Tonight saw us field 2 women's teams on the same night. Hardball at home to Bootle, softball away to Sutton. Years of investment behind this milestones. Plaudits to the volunteers who make it happen.
