She’s here 🩷

Apologies I’ve been super quiet (practically AWOL)… These past few weeks have been so incredibly bittersweet. We faced heartbreaking goodbyes to the most wonderful Grandma and Great Grandma we could have ever wished for, although it still doesn’t feel real. I’m missing her so much 💔 She always thought about the little things, like preparing a new wash bag with lots of little pamper goodies for the hospital “because you have to look after yourself, so you can look after your baby” ❤️ She’d have loved our new addition; it breaks my heart that she never got to meet her, especially as she always truly believed that our miracle would come, despite everything, and Elsie would be the big sister she’d always dreamed of being 🩷

Then just two days later, after 6 long years, 2 ectopic pregnancies, and our final attempt of IVF, with an embryo they almost didn’t freeze, our little miracle rainbow baby finally arrived.

Ida has brought much-needed joy to our family, from being Great Grandad’s birthday twin to being an absolute dream (so far 😂), and so has her big sister 🩷 I can’t believe I have 2 x girls 🥰 Thank goodness for Elliott as Tony would be massively outnumbered by now 😂

Just to mention, I cannot express enough heartfelt thanks to Rachel and Hope for everything they have done to assist with swimming starting up again over the past 2 x weeks while I began to heal from my c-section, and adjust to 3-hourly feeds, reflux, limited to no sleep, grief, and the baby bubble. I’m an emotional rollercoaster. I’d be lost without them ❤️

Thank you all sincerely for your patience, especially since the girls were unable to access my emails. Talk about timing, trying to set everyone up on a new system and all that goes with that. Rach & Hope still managed to help answer queries on social media, the work phone, and, of course, with the actual lessons, with the rest of the team who I’d also be so lost without ❤️. There are so many emails to tackle, and I will begin sorting through them from today when Ida sleeps. Please bear with me while I try to get my brain back into gear. Thank you again.

WATER SAFETY 💙

This is every swimming teacher’s favourite kind of message.

Reports that their little girl was able to get themselves to safety, despite a little panic of the unexpected deep water.

Swimming lessons give children the opportunity to experience the water, swim in the water, feel what it’s like to be out of their depth and make it back to the side safely.

Swimming is a life skill.

Being able to swim can literally save your life!

This little girl was of course under the watchful eye of her parents and staff… but it’s amazing to know if she ever did fall in somewhere, she has the knowledge and skills to get herself to safety

Crash courses are intensive swimming courses, in which the children attend a 30-minute group lesson each day (Monday - Friday). These are amazing for boosting confidence as well as skills and technique!
