Greenbank Giants Boccia
An inclusive Boccia club based at Greenbank Sports Academy. For people with various disABILITIES and all ages.
Boccia is an inclusive sport for ALL disABILITIES.. A form of indoor bowls, using soft leather handmade balls, played on a marked out court.. Players can release their colour ball (red or blue), by throwing, rolling, kicking or use a ramp with an assistance.
Happy 4th Birthday to Greenbank Giants Boccia. As with anything this club has had its ups and downs but ultimately the message here is we would not have come so far without all of our members.
To all our members, thank you for making Greenbank Giants the Boccia Club it is today!. 🙂🙂🙂

Lucy Hughes from Liverpool John Moores University is conducting some interesting research on how the media portrays people with disabilities in disability sport. Please take some time to help her out with this interesting subject!!

Greenbank Giants Boccia and those in our boccia community are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of David Burns who was a member of Blackpool Boccia Club.
David was very talented and enjoyed playing Boccia thoroughly, regularly competing in the North West Boccia League representing Blackpool Boccia Club. David used to compete in the competitions that took place at Greenbank Sports Academy.
David was always smiling and those of us who had the privilege of meeting him and played boccia with him are very fortunate and grateful for the good times in which David was with us.
We pass on our sincere condolences and our thoughts are with David's family, friends, Blackpool Boccia Club and anyone who had the privilege of meeting him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time, from Greenbank Giants.
