The KUGB is the UK's largest, and most successful, single-style Karate Organisation. They are supported by a Team of 7th and 6th Dans.
Formation of the KUGB
In 1965, the JKA sent four of its most famous and talented Instructors, Taiji Kase, Hirokazu Kanazawa, Keinosuke Enoeda and Hiroshi Shirai to tour Europe and give demonstrations of Shotokan Karate. The British part of the tour was coordinated by the British Karate Federation, a group of 10-15 clubs which had existed since 1959. In 1966, Sensei Kanazawa was invited to come to

IMPORTANT❗
🔴 All squad members must have their instructor's permission to attend and must have an up-to-date KUGB licence.
🔴 You must let your squad coach know if you cannot attend squad training. You are expected to enter all national competitions and your regional competitions.

FREE BLACK & BROWN BELT COURSE AND DAN GRADING 🥋

Please note the next Free Black and Brown Belt Course and Dan Grading will take place on Saturday 11th July in Bath.
This course is open to all KUGB members 3rd Kyu and above.
Under the expert guidance of Sensei Frank Brennan, 8th Dan, and Sensei Garry Harford, 8th Dan, KUGB members will train and attempt their Dan Gradings.
⏰ Training Times
10.30am - 12pm: Brown Belts Training
12pm - 1.30pm: Black Belts Training
2.30pm: Grading
IMPORTANT❗
🔴 Ensure your KUGB Licence is up to date.
🔴 This course is not just for those grading; Karateka of 3rd Kyu and above are welcome to attend.
🔴 Download the KUGB App from the App Store or Google Play. A step-by-step guide to registering is available at: www.kugb.org
🔴 Make sure your grading form is fully completed before attending, including a passport-sized photograph and your instructor's signed permission slip.
🔴 Gum shields and KUGB - approved white hand mitts are compulsory.

Please note the following regarding parking at Lancaster University Sports Centre:
The University has now moved to an ANPR car parking system which includes the sports centre. This means that customers still get 2 hours free as usual however going beyond this will result in a parking fine. The sport centre does offer a further 2 free hours with customers inputting their vehicle registrations into the tablet by reception. If more than four hours, you must pay for additional time on the RingGo app.
