Lads played v Bankfield away Saturday having got ourselves in to position to stay in the county premier division with no favours required from anybody but we needed one more victory.
We won 3-1 with goals from Owen Cassidy (2) and Rob Lamont.
It was a good performance and augurs well for the future.
Well done to John and the boys.
One final game Saturday v Alumni at SFX 3.00pm ko.

2nd game of the season last Saturday 8th September against the mighty Waterloo Dock. They were mighty and as a tough a challenge as we could possibly have faced. Struggled to get numbers there and are situation was mafe worse by an early injury to debutant Paul Cooney and after 30 minutes to skipper Shaun McBride. The Dock as expected showed no mercy and determined to accumulate as big a score as possible. The end result indicates a real hammering but masks the effort and endeavour of our 10 men for over an hour. Ryan Milner scored a great goal for us late on in reply to the 6 scored by the Dock. We all walked away with our heads held high. No quarter was asked or given by the Dock and the respect their players and management team extended to us was genuine and appreciated. After a couple of years of relative success we find ourselves in a tough position but don't worry we are not going to start crying !

Very promising performance from a very young Old Xaverians side yesterday ended in a narrow defeat to a late penalty. Outstanding performances all over the pitch. Our attitude to fair play was exemplary. Our approach was summed up by a fantastic goal from our MOM Owen Cassidy after a great piece of skill and wonderful pass from Danny Jones. Proud of the lads
