More Than A Gym ❤️

These photos were taken at our recent in-house competition, but they represent so much more than martial arts.

They capture friendships, teamwork, sportsmanship, courage, resilience and the confidence that comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.

Of course we're proud of the medals and the performances, but what makes us proudest is the way our students support one another, celebrate each other's successes and pick each other up when things don't go their way.

That's what Evolve is all about.

A mixed weekend for Team Evolve 👊

🥋 Jack Johanson starts his amateur MMA journey positively, securing a first-round submission victory in a composed and dominant performance.

🥊 Craig Marley came up short on the scorecards in his boxing bout, but after five hard-fought rounds in an absolute war, he can hold his head high. A fantastic effort and a performance that showed real heart, toughness and determination. Could of gone either way.

Win or lose, we're proud of both lads for putting it on the line and representing the gym the right way.

Fresh off a 2nd round stoppage in his boxing debut, is straight back in action next weekend 👊🥊

An absolute pleasure to host the phenomenonal Jacob Couch at the academy this week, getting some work in ahead of his title match at Grapplefest on Saturday.

When athletes of that calibre step on the mats, it sharpens everyone in the room.

Huge appreciation as well Brandon Reed, David Gibbons and the team for making the trip and adding to a quality session last night.

This is exactly what we want Evolve to be — a room where standards are high, work ethic is respected, and everyone improves together.

🥉 – Bronze medal, competing at blue belt for the first time

🥉🥉 Terry Daine – Bronze in both Gi & No-Gi, also making his blue belt debut

🥈🥉 – Silver in No-Gi and Bronze in Gi after some tough matches throughout the day

Stepping up to a new belt level is never easy, and all three showed real composure, determination and heart on the mats today. We're proud of the way they represented the academy.

Massive thanks as well to Wayne Farrell for coaching the team today and supporting them through every match — this is what team culture is all about.
