A small detail with a long history. 🍍

The pineapples at Hoylake once marked the entrance to the winners’ enclosure when the site was used as a racecourse between 1846 and 1876.

In Victorian Britain, pineapples were a rare symbol of wealth and prestige, and it’s believed they were even presented as prizes to winning jockeys.

A reminder that the history of this place stretches well beyond golf.

The opening ceremony of The Atlantic Trophy at Hoylake.

This year, the range has become fully automated, with a robotic ball picker feeding directly into the Range Servant system, where balls are collected, cleaned and ready to go again.

Less time spent collecting, more time for golfers to warm up on the grass tee before heading out onto the links.
