Hoylake's first rule book.
Printed in 1872, just three years after the Club was founded, this is the earliest known bound copy of Royal Liverpool's Rules and Regulations.
Long before golf's rules were standardised, clubs wrote and played by their own. This remarkable booklet offers a rare glimpse into those early years and the foundations on which Hoylake was built.
Carefully restored by the Paper Conservator at National Museums Liverpool, it is one of the many stories preserved within the Club's heritage collection.

Far
A par 5 that has humbled some of the game's greatest names.
On his way to completing the Grand Slam in 1930, Bobby Jones made seven here. A reminder that at Hoylake, no hole should ever be underestimated.
The fairway invites you in. It's only when you're playing your approach that Far begins to show its teeth. The deep bunker guarding the front right of the green leaves very little room for error.

Those words mean a great deal to everyone at Royal Liverpool.
Hosting The Amateur Championship for the 19th time was another proud chapter in the club's history. From the course conditions to a memorable final, it was a week that showcased championship links golf at its very best.
Our thanks to The R&A, the players, officials, volunteers and everyone who made it such a special championship.
