Rebuilding my jump through and jump back for what feels like the hundredth time. It’s still a ways a way from what I know it can be but it’s getting better every week 🙌. I am focusing not on getting it all but just in challenging myself a little each day rather than just using the strength I already have. It doesn’t matter where you are on your journey to strength, that all we can ever do. I am really enjoying my practice right now it’s familiar but hard and it meets me wherever I am each day.

My regular weekly classes are based on the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga. We do a slightly shorter version in the beginners classes and of course we modify to suit different people’s needs. This is the full standing sequence with sun salutes at the beginning.

I find doing the same thing very meditative and calming. Of course it allows us the opportunity to develop the poses as well. It may be the same sequence but it is never the same.

One of the many life lessons from 21 years of ashtanga yoga practice is the power of consistency. So much is possible with practice in all areas of life, much more than we can imagine.

Join me for my upcoming Urban Retreat Saturday 11th April. 10am. -1pm

We will slow everything down with a slow vinyasa flow, followed by a yin yoga class with a focus on hip opening. It’s a great relaxing way to start your weekend.

Vinyasa flow means breath movement so we will move well the breath in a fluid but gentle flow. Yin yoga involves holding the poses for longer in a more passive relaxed way. This event is a great getaway from the busyness of life and will also help develop flexibility in the hips.

Spaces qre limited. Book via my website, link in bio.

Looking back at 2016 brings back so many happy memories for me. 2016 Helen had an amazing time and accomplished so much. I admire her so much but I know she had her own worries and doubts. I wish I could tell her how amazing she is and to cherish every moment.

My Mum has written the words “look at me” on the back of this picture of me. I am sure she means me, but when I look at this picture of me, I see her. Not in the way we look but in the joy and the mannerisms. This how my Mum would look when she was in her garden, happy and content with life.

2025 was undoubtedly the hardest year of my life and yet leaving it behind, felt like leaving her behind too. I am not my Mum but in 2026 and beyond I carry her inside of me, especially in the moments of joy and love. My mum taught me to love, she loved better than anyone I have ever met.
