ve seen a few posts recently about 'Float to Live' and have been a little concerned by some AI-generated images showing what to do in a water emergency. While well intentioned, oversimplified advice can sometimes be misleading.
A few practical thoughts from me:
• If you're in difficulty and it's safe to do so, try to remove heavy or restrictive clothing and footwear if they're making it harder to stay afloat.
• If possible, avoid unnecessary movement.
• Calling for help is always better than struggling to swim if you're unable to do so safely.
The best approach, however, is to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge before you ever need them. Good swimming lessons and water safety education can make a real difference.
Social media can be useful for raising awareness, but always make sure the advice comes from a reliable source.
