๐โโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ Greg East
Itโs been a fantastic summer of racing for Greg, whoโs been in great form across multiple disciplines.
Greg raced the Abersoch Olympic Triathlon, the final leg of the Abersoch Triple Crown series, a tough coastal event combining a sea swim, a hilly and scenic bike route along the Llyn Peninsula, and a challenging beach run to finish.
He delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 2nd overall in the Triple Crown standings!
Over the series, Greg raced the
๐ Abersoch 10K,
๐๐ปโโ๏ธAbersoch Olympic Triathlon, and the
๐ฒAbersoch 20K Trail Run
When heโs not racing, youโll find Greg at his favourite club session Speke swim, putting in the hard work that clearly pays off on race day.
Well done Greg on an impressive summer season๐

Ironman 140.6 Nice WC race report, thanks Martin!
I had a tough day at the Ironman World Championships in Nice. I wasnโt feeling great going into it, and it turned out afterwards that Iโd actually been racing with Covid. Unsurprisingly, that made things really challenging, and it ended up being my slowest ever Ironman. Not quite the result I was hoping for on what was my 50th iron-distance race ๐.
That said, it was still incredible to be part of the atmosphere at the last World Champs in Nice. The buzz around the event was something special, and honestly, if it had been any other race, I probably wouldnโt have even started.
Huge congratulations to Chris Ball and Cubbo, who both had strong races (though Cubbo claims this was his last Ironman โ weโll see if thatโs really the case!).
Even though it wasnโt the day I wanted performance-wise, being out there and part of such a historic event still made it a memorable one.

Final Multi-Terrain Race at Arrowe Park ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Arrowe Park played host to the finale of the Wirral Multi-Terrain Series
๐ A massive thank you to the organisers, volunteer marshals, and St John Ambulance for keeping everything running smoothly and safely, allowing everyone to race.
In the womenโs race, Helen Skipper crossed the line in 17th place, with Amy Feeley hot on her heels, both securing 7th and 8th Vet positions, respectively. Fantastic running, both! ๐ช
In the menโs race, James Meldrum led the Mersey Tri charge, finishing first for the club and clinching 3rd Vet 45. He was followed by Louis Johnson and Jamie Pleavin.
๐ Special shoutout to James, who took home some well-earned silverware after placing in his age group across the entire series, well done!

A big well done to all who raced the 3rd Wirral Multi-Terrain last evening, and a huge thankyou to all the volunteers and organisers who made the race possible, especially with the last minute course change. ๐
The course was certainly a scenic run, with some beach and trail sections... and some killer steps. ๐ณ
First 3 for the open category were James Meldrum, Chris Gibbons and Jamie Pleavin - happy birthday Jamie! ๐
The first three Mersey women were Helen Skipper, Amy Feeley and Vicky Stewart, brilliant running! ๐
Great work all, and see you next week for the finale at Arrowe Park!
