MINI DIET: DAY 8
1.5kg / 3.3lb down in the first week.
Yeah⦠that's quite a lot for a small female.
BUTā¦
A big chunk of that initial drop will be water and glycogen, especially in the first week, so I fully expect the rate of loss to slow down from here.
Last week was pretty straightforward.
Training was consistent, I felt very strong, and food was on track.
I also deliberately had a little more flexibility with calories over the weekend.
So far, so good.
And because these posts don't need to be serious I thought I'd show you the reality of using a 10-second timer.
Apparently I have absolutely no patience because I kept moving before the bloody picture was taken. š¤£
I've also thrown in a few bodybuilding-style shots because I've not done these for ages.
No heels.
Just me seeing what things look like from different angles.
Oh and my Oura ring decided I was doing 15 minutes of yoga. š
(Apparently getting undressed, standing in front of a camera and attempting to pose counts as yoga now.)
Anyway⦠let's see what the next week brings.

Well, itās been a pretty standard week on the camera rollā¦
š¤ Feeling a little leaner
š¤ My best mate when Iām eating š
š¤ Furry friends, just before the heavens opened
š¤ Got absolutely drenched⦠like we literally jumped in a swimming pool. Had a good laugh running home though!š¤£
š¤ That wet doggo smell š
š¤ RDLs are feeling amazing šŖ
š¤ Trained with our Rubes ā¤ļø
š¤ Hands are pretty rough right now⦠IFKYK
š¤ Standard brekkie
š¤ Simple stir fry
š¤ Pretty bloody happy with 6 pull-ups⦠and these should get easier as body weight comes down too š
After a few pretty crazy weeks, it was actually nice to have nothing on for once.
Just work, training, food, dog walks, family and the people I love.
And honestly, Iām feeling very grateful right now.
Grateful to be training consistently and, more importantly, injury-free.
Grateful for the people I have around me.
And grateful for the ordinary, boring weeks⦠because sometimes theyāre actually the best ones ā¤ļø

Mini diet: Day 1 šŖ
I havenāt dieted for a long time, 15 months actually.
After spending months dealing with lower-body injuries, inconsistent training and losing some muscle and strength, dieting was the last thing my body needed.
I've been doing this long enough to have the experience to know I'd likely just end up in a worse position.
I needed to eat enough.
I needed to recover.
I needed to rebuild my training, strength and muscle first.
And thatās exactly what Iāve spent the last few months doing.
Back in May, I was around 58.4kg and felt smaller and flatter than I wanted to.
Today Iām around 60.5kg, stronger, training consistently again and feeling much more like myself.
So now feels like a good time for a mini diet.
Not because Iām unhappy with my body.
Or because gaining weight was a mistake.
But because Iāve rebuilt the muscle and strength I lost, and Iād like to do a little tidy-up before heading into another muscle-building phase later in the year.
The aim is to lose around 8lb over the next 9ā10 weeks.
And before anyone thinks this is going to be a āchicken, broccoli and no lifeā situation š
Iāve got a five-night break away later this month and a big day out planned in September.
Theyāre staying in.
Iāll work around them rather than putting my life on hold.
This is what a sustainable fat-loss phase looks like to me:
āļøTrain hard
āļøEat enough protein
āļøCreate a manageable calorie deficit
āļøEnjoy my life, without taking the p**s, it is a diet after all
āļøAnd be consistent
I havenāt shared a dieting phase for a while, so here it is.

A wholesome weekend š§”
Itās been a crazy few weeks.
Life is odd, and people will always surprise you.
Sometimes you can treat people with nothing but kindness, honesty and respect⦠and still be left disappointed by the way they choose to treat you.
And sometimes things donāt turn out the way you expected, and youāre reminded that not everyone sees or handles things in the same way you do.
So, spending time with my Mum & Dad and Mark, and getting a rare chance to see my brother and sister-in-law, who live in Kent, plus my gorgeous nephew and niece šš©· has been just what I needed.
A little time away, some family time and a reminder of what really matters ā¤ļø
