The inaugural Hopes Help Cup took place at Haig Ave yesterday as our girls came together to support an unbelievable cause and have some fun in the sun.

Our sponsors Hopes Help support children, families and local community projects across Sefton and the North West and we are so proud to wear Hope’s name on our shirts. The Hope’s Help Cup is a way of giving back just a fraction of the incredible support they show our girls and our community and we are incredibly grateful for them. 💛

Thankyou to everybody who came and supported us or got involved, it means the world! Think it’s fair to say our girls had a pretty good time. 🤣💛

12 months ago, these girls turned up to one of our Wildcats sessions, most of them didn’t know each other and some of them had never even kicked a ball before.

Today, they finished runners up in the Premier Division at Hightown, competing against some of the very best U10s teams in the North West of England.

Goals from:
Teal ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Autumn ⚽️
Wren ⚽️
Violet ⚽️
Olivia ⚽️

Gave us the result we needed over a dangerous MSB Comets side to secure second place on head to head record.

We are so incredibly proud of this group of amazing girls. The progress they’ve made over the last year has defied belief, all down to their incredible work rates, attitude and self belief. They’re all incredibly talented individuals that have come together to make the best possible team, on and off the pitch and we’re so excited to see what the next 12 months will bring!

See you in September, Hightown! 🫡💛

Our penultimate weekend at Hightown this season saw us face familiar opposition in Quarry Green in a friendly.

Our best moment of the game started with Nina from a goal kick as her short lay off to Wren allowed our centre half to play an excellent ball up to Olivia up front who controlled and laid the ball off for Lilia to run onto and sweep the ball into the corner. A superb goal that shows exactly how we want the girls to be playing!

Quarry Green were excellent this morning though, a tough test for our girls, as always, against one of the very best teams in the area.

Fantastic game of football at Hightown between Remyca and Southport U10s last night.

An evenly contested match with some great saves from both keepers.

Remyca took the lead early on with a well taken goal from their winger. Southport equalised through Teal who tapped in after Bella’s fantastic long range effort which was pushed onto the post by the Remyca keeper. Just on half time Remyca scored one of the goals of the season from a very well worked corner which was volleyed into the top corner leaving Nina with no chance.

The second half was goalless with both keepers continuing to make more great saves until the last 5 minutes where Wren found herself through on goal twice, keeping her cool on both occasions to score two great goals.

A midweek meeting for our girls as we took on Crosby Stuart in Hightown on Thursday night.

The girls had been playing football all day so it was no surprise that the game started off lively, but it was Crosby who took an early lead, a corner causing all sorts of problems before being poked through Nina’s legs through a crowd.

We grew into the game from that point, the Crosby keeper making some excellent saves to keep her team ahead. Teal with our best chance, trying to find the far corner from the edge of the box, only to be denied by the keepers fingertips.

The second half started just like the first with Crosby stealing in early on to double their lead. A misjudged through ball allowed the Crosby attacker to slide the ball home. Our exhausted girls fought back brilliantly, though, as we started to pile pressure on the Crosby backline.

Sophia, Lilia, Teal and Wren all came close but the Crosby keeper was having an incredible game and proved equal to everything we threw at her. A late inswinging corner from Lilia did eventually find the near post to finally break through and give us false hope, but time ran out on us in the end.

Another tough game this morning in Hightown, as our girls took on the reigning League Champions in Quarry Green in what always promised to be a tough test.

Our girls started with plenty of energy, determined to take the game to the opposition. Excellent work from Autumn down the left hand side ended with a perfectly placed cross into the area where Teal was on hand to finish brilliantly and make our early pressure pay.

Our second came down the opposite flank, Bella this time beating her marker and sticking another excellent ball into the danger area where Teal controlled and finished the ball in two superb touches, leaving the Quarry Green keeper with no chance.

The second half started a completely different game, Quarry Green causing us all sorts of problems as a corner played into the box wasn’t dealt with properly and was bundled over the line to reduce the deficit. An equaliser wasn’t far behind, a well placed through ball proving too much for our backline to deal with as the Quarry Green attacker dummied the ball and Nina was beaten for a second time.

Our girls stemmed the oppositions building momentum superbly though, a testament to the mentality this group have. Instead they went up the other end and Teal managed to provide the finishing touch to an Autumn corner to both secure her hat trick and reinstate our lead.

Our lead was almost doubled as Lilia fired an excellent effort towards the top corner from a tight angle, the Quarry Green keeper, however, doing unbelievably well to tip the ball onto the crossbar.

Our girls soaked up Quarry Green’s late pressure superbly though, and it was birthday girl Emily who turned provider as she played Wren clean through on goal, an excellent weak footed finish proving the final kick of the game.

Another excellent team performance against top, top opposition, our girls did us proud again this morning.

Our girls kickstarted their new league season at Hightown this morning, MSB Celta the opposition.

The game started off tight, our backline doing superbly to withstand the MSB Celta attacking threat. Nina proving more than equal to anything the Celta attack could throw at her, making some unbelievable saves to ensure the scores remained level.

Celta managed to force a breakthrough not long before half time, superb feet from the opposition attacker creating the space to force another excellent save from Nina only for another Celta attacker to nick in and finish brilliantly on the volley.

The second half brought much of the same, the Celta attack probing but meeting tough resistance as we kept them at arms length. A half chance just inside the penalty area looked likely to double the oppositions lead but Nina threw a strong right hand down towards her bottom corner to tip the ball wide of the post and keep us in the game.

As the clock threatened to run out we tried to force a grandstand finish, Teal, Wren and Bella all managing to get shots off but nothing that proved fruitful.

All in all a much improved performance against excellent opposition for our girls. Nina, especially, almost proving the difference this morning, she was absolutely outstanding.
