Not every day at the gym can be progress if you train long term.
When you start training you get an initial surge in ‘gains’ or ‘newbie gains’ as some call it.
After some time, that progress slows down.
When that starts to happen, quite often is when people stop and lose interest because the results are not as obvious.
What people need to understand is that you will get days, weeks or maybe even months where you feel like you are not gaining or progressing.
The hardest part is actually getting your ass to the gym to begin with because it is so easy to just miss a day or two or three, then the next thing you know you have stopped.
I have days where I feel like I don’t want to train (maybe more often than not nowadays) but I still turn up 4 to 5 times a week and put as much effort as I can in.
One thing I do always get though which will never change, and that is the feel good feeling you get after training and I always tell myself that ‘I am glad I have gone now’. Even if the session wasn’t the best. The whole point of it is doing what you can on the day.
Getting to the gym or starting any form of exercise is a success in of itself.
The discipline to keep going even though you don’t want to is not an easy thing to acquire but when/if you do 💪💪💪💪💪 it will serve you well in the future.
Stay consistent, results come with an accumulation of hard work and effort, not with the odd day here and there.
All the best.
