🎒💛 HOW ARE THEY SETTLING BACK INTO SCHOOL?

The first few weeks back can bring a whole mix of emotions for children - excitement, nerves, tiredness, big feelings… sometimes all in the same day! 😅

Every child settles back into school differently, so we’d love to hear how things are going for your family.
💬 Is your child loving being back?
😴 Are they coming home exhausted?
🫣 Are they struggling with school anxiety?
✨ Or have they surprised you with how well they’ve settled?

Share your experience in the comments - the good, the challenging and everything in between. 🫶

Your story might be exactly what another parent needs to hear today.
And remember, if your child is finding the transition difficult, you're not alone. Small steps, patience and plenty of reassurance can make a big difference. 💛

Big feelings after school? You’re not alone. 💛

Sometimes our children hold it together all day at school, then let everything out the moment they get home. The tears, the frustration, the meltdowns… it can feel like it comes out of nowhere.

But often, home is where they feel safe enough to finally release everything they’ve been holding in.

Instead of seeing it as “bad behaviour”, try seeing it as a sign that they’re overwhelmed and need connection, comfort and a chance to reset.

Be patient. Stay close. Listen when they’re ready. ❤️

At Resilient Kids Academy, we’re here to help children and families understand big feelings and build the tools to manage them.

🎒💛 3 THINGS TO SAY TO YOUR CHILD BEFORE THEY WALK THROUGH THE SCHOOL GATES

Those few seconds before school can be a powerful opportunity to build your child's confidence and resilience.

Instead of simply saying “Have a good day!”, try these:
✨ “You can do hard things.”
💭 “You don’t have to get everything right.”
🫶 “Whatever happens today, you can talk to me about it.”
Small words can make a big difference to how a child walks through those school gates. 💛

🎒 Back to school, back to routine! 💛

🎒✨ BACK-TO-SCHOOL RESET — IS YOUR CHILD READY?
The new school year is just around the corner, and getting ready isn't only about finding the right uniform and packing the school bag…

It’s also about helping your child feel emotionally ready. 💛

A little reset now can make those first few weeks feel much easier:
🕰️ Get back into a consistent sleep routine
🎒 Get uniforms, bags and school essentials ready
💬 Talk about any worries or excitement they might have
🧠 Remind them that it’s okay to feel nervous about a new start
✨ Focus on what they can control
🫶 Reassure them that they can always come to you

Remember: you don't need to have everything perfectly sorted. Sometimes the most important preparation is simply helping your child feel safe, heard and confident.
So… is your child ready for the school gates? 👀🎒

🎒✨ READY FOR A SEPTEMBER RESET? ✨🎒

The summer holidays are coming to an end, and getting back into a routine can feel like a big adjustment - for children and parents alike!

Here are a few simple tips from Resilient Kids Academy to make the transition a little smoother:

🌙 Start adjusting bedtime - Gradually bring bedtimes and wake-up times closer to your school routine.
⏰ Get back into morning routines - Practise getting dressed, having breakfast and getting ready without the holiday rush.
📅 Talk about what’s coming - Chat about school, teachers, friends and any changes ahead. Knowing what to expect can help ease worries.
🎒 Get organised together - Involve your child in getting uniforms, bags and school essentials ready. It can help them feel prepared and in control.
💬 Make space for feelings - Excitement, nerves and even a little reluctance are all completely normal. Listen, reassure and remind them that it’s okay to feel this way.
🌈 Keep some fun in the routine - Returning to school doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Plan little things to look forward to after school or at the weekend.

Remember, it’s a transition, not a race. Be patient, offer reassurance and celebrate the small wins along the way. 💛

Here’s to a happy, confident and resilient start to September! 🌟

💛 RESILIENT KIDS NEED RESILIENT PARENTS. 💛

Building resilience in our children isn’t about expecting them to handle everything on their own.

It starts with what they see from us. 👀

When parents model healthy coping, manage their own emotions, set boundaries and show that it’s okay to make mistakes, children learn that challenges can be faced - and overcome. 🌱

✨ Resilience is built through connection, consistency and example.

We don’t have to be perfect parents. We just need to show our children that when life feels difficult, we can pause, reset, ask for help and keep going.

🎥 Watch the video to learn more about why resilient kids need resilient parents - and how you can help build resilience at home.
