Favourite part of the role: The positive impact that sport and physical activity can have on a young person life
πͺπΌ Passionate about: I have always been involved in sport myself and want to give others the chance to have the same enjoyment and experiences that I've had
πββοΈ Outside of work: Spending time with my 2 daughters
and wife, watching sport, taking my dog a walk.
π Fun fact: I ran the Abotts Dash race in New York in a Kilt as part of the New York Marathon Festival.
β Proud moment: Seeing numerous young leaders from our Coach Academy programme now returning as young adults working in PE Depts and other roles within Sport and Physical activity in West Lothian
π Looking ahead: Continuing to develop opportunites for young leaders in West Lothain throgh new initiatives and partnerships

β Favourite part of the role: Witnessing first hand the positive impact sport and Physical activity has on everyone who takes part.

Why do you work in sport: I have always lead a very sporty lifestyle since primary school and sport is my passion.
π What are you passionate about: Ensuring everyone has the confidence to try different things as you will never know if you don't give it a go.
π Favourite activity: Athletics
πFun Fact: A very long time ago I was Scottish age group, West District and Scottish Schools Champion in Athletics.

Met Kim O'Connor, Active Schools Coordinator for the Armadale Cluster
Kim supports Armadale Academy, Armadale PS, Eastertoun PS, Blackridge PS, Southdale and Windyknowe PS
Outside of work, Kim loves encouraging her little girl to try lots of different sports/activities. Kim also enjoys fitness classes, walking, travelling, reading and living life to the full!
β Favourite part of the role: Seeing the difference that sport and physical activity can make to children and young people. From making new friends, building confidence and enjoying themselves.
π What she's passionate about: Giving young people a chance to try a variety of sports/activities and then hearing them say 'that was great'! Makes it all worthwhile :)
π Favourite activity: Fitness Class - both cardio and weights.
π A proud achievement: Ive mentored many people who have started in the team sharing my knowledge and experience and telling them to enjoy every minute of the role.
π― Looking forward to this year: Seeing all the young people take part in a variety of events and competitions throughout the year! Its great to see the planning of an event coming together and watch all the pupils having the best time.

Meet Laura Livingstone, Active Schools Coordinator for the Inveralmond Cluster
Laura supports Inveralmond CHS, Harrysmuir PS, Peel PS, Toronto PS, Livingston Village PS, Riverside PS and Letham PS.
Outside of work, Laura loves to travel and is always planning her next holiday. She also enjoys running, keeping active at the gym and spending time with friends and family.
β Favourite part of the role: Giving children and young people the opportunity to get involved in sport and physical activity, discover new interests and build positive experiences.
π What she's passionate about: Making sport accessible to everyone and ensuring that all young people have the chance to participate, regardless of their background or circumstances.
π Favourite activity: Swimming
π A proud achievement: Recently taking part in the SAMH/Scottish Women in Sport Young Women in Leadership Programme as a mentor, supporting young women at the beginning of their sporting journeys.
π― Looking forward to this year: Upskilling and supporting the next cohort of Coach Academy participants and Young Ambassadors across the Inveralmond Cluster.
