Just a little bit of modifications tonight 👌

Last weekend I had an awesome time at a shoot up in the Lake District! What a beautiful course ! 🏹

This was the Lakeland’s two day shoot, if you’ve not been I highly recommend this one ! It’s really challenging with some really nice long shots, nothing overly stretched just very well laid !

I had a great start to Saturday, my first 20 targets felt controlled, I felt good! Then for some reason the second half I started shooting left on every target, around the 12inchs every shot and could not work out what had changed ! Because of this I started getting into my head and my control, confidence and enthusiasm went at this point.

After the day I retired by to the camper give myself a minute to collect my thoughts and headed straight to the practice area… here I concentrated on my form and everything I could do to ensure a perfect clean shot….. would you believe it….. straight away 5 out of 6 in the pro spot.. 1 just out…. I think what had happened my anchor had started to move away from my face without knowing!

On to Sunday I went in with confidence! I knew it was me and I knew I could be in charge of that! I had a great day Sunday! Shot really well and enjoyed the day knowing I had dealt with my issue !

Moral of the story… keep your cool, take a minute to evaluate and you will find your issue sooner and be able to sort it before it ruins your day!

Last night I had the privilege of shooting around Thornbury 3d course with one of the top Trad archers in the UK Aaron O'Shea before he flies out to shoot the World 3D championships next month!

Aaron was kind enough to extend an invite to shoot with him whenever I ended up working in his area, turns out that was this week and true to his word, we grabbed the bows and headed out !

I have been struggling lately with shot anxiety which has completely ruined my scores, again Aaron knew what to do and the results from just 1 arrow spoke for itself! My first arrow being a high 5 (16 NFAS) was completely out of control! He then talked me through some steps and made me think I would not be releasing the shot, all of a sudden a shout of Loose came in and BAM pin wheeled the 11 ring (24spot NFAS)

This made me realise I can do it and I know I can work on it!

I must add Thornburys course was great! I will definitely be returning to shoot this at an open shoot some day soon! 🤘

Yesterday a group of us attended to start the course laying for out Wolf Hunter shoot on the 11th October 🏹

Well I became a cool kid last weekend !

I finally got myself a The Push Archery Alpha pack 🙌 honestly don’t know why I waited so long to get one ! The quality is amazing, the size is perfect ! And also cool points go up by 5% 👌

Well this was an experience! If somehow you don’t know who this is….. this is the Great Dane and no not Scooby Doo… this is Oliver “The Great Dane” Øchkenholt he is the bow whisper of barebow! I’ve never witnessed such control and accuracy in archery before watching Oliver! He is an incredible archer and super nice guy too ! Even bent down 2ft to have a picture with me 😂 thank you for your time and your company in Denmark mate ! It was a real pleasure to meet you!
