I wanted to let you hear this directly from me…

I’m gutted to say that The Big Sleepover / Heart of Wales Challenge will not be going ahead this May.

With rising costs and a drop in ticket sales, it simply doesn’t make business sense to take the risk this year. As tough as that decision is, it’s the right one — and we’ll take some time to reassess what the future looks like for 2027.

We’re incredibly proud of what we created with The Big Sleepover. Last year was something really special — a unique event that brought so many people together and into the area.

A huge thank you to our local community, everyone who purchased tickets, our vendors, partners, friends and supporters — we genuinely appreciate every single one of you. The support has never gone unnoticed ❤️

I wanted to let you know as soon as it was confirmed today, and I really hope this doesn’t impact your summer plans too much.

Heart of Wales 7s (Adults) is going ahead this July as planned 🔥

Welsh 7s Series (Juniors) in Carmarthen & Neath will also be going ahead 🏉

We've had LOADS of new HoWChallengers join the Community over the past few months so I thought I'd drop a little info about us 👋

We are the Davies family 😄 Jordan and Sally, along with our two little boys, run a number of sporting events across Wales whilst both being teachers in the local High school in Llanidloes, home of the Heart of Wales 7s and The Big Sleepover 🏕

Where did The HoWChallenge come from?

Over the past few years we also founded a Glamping site locally, & other sporting events, and loads of our lovely guests always asked the same question, 'What is there locally to do for Families'. With this sinking in we also thought how far we had to travel for a Family Festival which included sport for our boys. So here we are, creating an exciting, affordable and memory making event here, in the Heart of Mid Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

What can we expect?

We are bringing it all to the HoWChallenge. From Music to Wrestling, Outdoor Cinema to meeting your heroes, we aim to have something for all ages for a truly inclusive family entertainment event. With all our experience in providing great sporting weekends we are excited about the sports tournaments ensuring a great experience for everyone involved. 🎉
