Sunday 13th September 2026- 10K-5k-1k Llantwit Major 10k was set up to honour the late David Synan’s love of running.
The first trail event of August 2015 was such a success, the committee and volunteers decided to make this an annual event. The 2nd LM10K in 2016 built on the success of the event, and doubled the field of runners. But if you know someone little who wants to take part in the 1k then the good news is you can sign up on the day. Register before 12.15 for a 12.30 start. £1 entry includes a small medal and a Llantwit run series buff.
The 1k is being held this year in memory of Cllr David Foster. Cllr David Foster served on Llantwit Major Town Council for many years, prior to his untimely death in March. He worked tirelessly on behalf of the people of Llantwit Major, and was a keen supporter of the 10k Race Series, and consistently encouraged the Council to offer financial support to ensure its continued success. He also volunteered as a Race Marshall on a number of occasions. It is totally appropriate that we remember him this year by associating his name with the 1k Children’s Race. He is and will continue to be missed by all associated with this event.

With only 6 days to sign up let’s remember who the 10k run is held in memory of . The 10k was initiated in memory of a very capable local runner and outdoors man called David Synan. He passed away in 2014 and the first 10k race was expected to be a one off. But David’s memory lives on as we get into our 11th year.

Brad Parkinson Memorial award
In memory of Brad Parkinson, a much-loved member of our running community and a dedicated member of the 10K committee. Brad was a keen runner who gave his time, enthusiasm and support to the event and those around him. Sadly, Brad passed away unexpectedly earlier this year, leaving a huge void among his family, friends and fellow runners. This 5K award has been created in his memory, celebrating his passion for running and ensuring that his name and contribution to our running community will continue to be remembered for many years to come.
