August 22nd Race Report

Race 1: P3 🥉
Race 2 & 3: P5

Really disappointing after last weeks success. A tough night behind the wheel, with mechanical problems following us throughout the races, but we managed to bring home some decent points despite the issues.

Luckily, we’ve now got a three-week gap to get to the bottom of it all and come back stronger!

August 15th Race Report

What a way to make my return to the 2.0 Hot Rods!

Race 1 — I spent the race hunting down the car ahead, waiting for an opportunity. He made a mistake, clipped the kerb and ran wide, and I took my chance, sliding up the inside and pulling a gap. I brought it home to take my first ever win in the 2.0 Hot Rods 🏆

Race 2 — This was one of, if not the best, on track battle I have ever had. Huge respect to Gary, who raced me clean and fair from start to finish. We were side-by-side for what felt like the entire race, neither of us willing to give an inch, and I somehow managed to steal the win right at the end. Two from two! 🏆

Race 3 — I have nobody to blame but myself for this one. It was a really tight fight for the win. I tried going down the inside but it didn’t work, then tried around the outside and that didn’t work either. During this another car managed to slide past me, and in trying to reclaim the position I was too eager. My foot slipped and I put down too much pressure too quickly, causing the car to kick out... snapping right, then left towards the wall, then right again.

Thankfully, I managed to keep it out of the wall and bring it home in P3. 🏆

So, three races, three trophies, two wins and a third place. Obviously, it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t a full house, but after a string of DNFs and DNSs, the points haul tonight is absolutely massive and exactly what I needed.

A massive thank you to everyone who made all this possible.

Tonight I was proud to be sporting 36 on the car for Rapid Roy Anderson, a national hot rod driver who sadly passed away. It definitely brought us a bit of luck tonight 💚

🏁 Phoenix Sim Racing League — Race Report 🏁

What a way to start the inaugural PSRL season!

Pro-Am Class
Qualifying: 🥇 P1
Race 1: 🥇 P1
Race 2: 🥇 P1

Race 2 was definitely the biggest challenge. After picking up significant damage, the wheel was sitting around 45° off centre just to drive straight 😭. I pitted early, ended up out of pit order, and managed to get the damage fixed with a fast repair... from there, it was all about fighting back.

A clean sweep in Pro-Am means I leave Round 1 leading the Pro-Am Championship, while sitting P6 in the Overall championship.

Also had a lovely interview at the end of the stream... definitely go check out the broadcast if you haven’t already!

A perfect start to the season… now onto Spa next week! 🇧🇪🏁

Back behind the wheel today for a much needed test session!

After spending the last few months repairing damage and making a number of upgrades to the car, today was all about putting everything to the test and seeing how it all worked together.

I’m happy to say the car felt fantastic. Everything we wanted to try worked really well, and it’s given me a lot of confidence going into next week’s meeting. There are still a few small things to fine-tune, but that’s exactly what today was for.

A massive thank you to everyone who’s helped get the car back on track. A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes, but it was worth it.

It’s been a little while since my last 2.0 Hot Rod update!

After the damage from the European, the car has spent the last few months in the workshop getting the attention it deserved. Rather than just repairing the damage, we’ve taken the opportunity to carry out what has essentially been a full winter strip-down… just in the middle of summer!

The car has been repaired, refreshed, and upgraded, and I can’t wait to finally get back behind the wheel.

The countdown is now on for August 15th, and I’m looking forward to getting back out on track and seeing what we can do after all the hard work that’s gone into the car.
