Over £800 raised in memory of Dougie & Archie
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our special Charity Bowls Day at Lochgilphead Bowling Club, with bowlers travelling from Tarbert, Ardrishaig, Oban and Dunoon.

The day was held in memory of our much-loved members Dougie Philand and Archie MacVicar, raising funds for Anthony Nolan and Parkinson’s UK - two charities that supported them.
It was a fantastic day filled with good bowls, great company and lots of memories.

A massive thank you to everyone who played, donated, helped organise and supported the event, and especially to Dougie and Archie’s families for allowing us to go ahead.

Over £800 was raised on Saturday, with more to come at our Race Night on Friday 11th September at 7.30pm

Come along for a great night with fantastic raffle prizes and vouchers donated from local businesses. Help us raise even more for these two very worthwhile charities!

A special thank you to The Crawfords’ Group for their generous sponsorship and support in making the Charity bowls day possible. A wonderful tribute to two much respected members of our bowling family.

Part 1 of our Charity events in aid of Anthony Nolan and Parkinson's Disease kick off this Saturday 5th Sep with the 'Open Triples' - Sponsored by The Crawford's Group.
Part 2 of our Charity events is our 'Race Night' on Friday 11th Sep.
As well as the horse races we will have a fun 'Nearest the Bottle' and an AMAZING raffle consisting of donations and gifts from local businesses.
Come and join the fun for a GREAT cause!

40 Years of the McKerlie Pairs
A fantastic day of bowling saw 18 teams from Oban, Lochgilphead, Ardrishaig, Tarbert and Campbeltown compete for the McKerlie Open Pairs trophy.
There were some excellent bowls, plenty of close games and it was especially great to welcome back 3 youth teams from Campbeltown.
The final couldn't have been closer. Two Lochgilphead teams battled it out in the final with a draw of 5 each after 5 ends, taking the match into an extra end. Brothers Ross and Alan edged 2 in front to lift the trophy. Well done boys and congratulations to all who took part!
A huge thank you to the Lochgilphead Community Shop for sponsoring the event and to the Angus Family for donating the wonderful array of raffle prizes. This is the 40th year that the Angus family have supported the competition. The support of the Angus family and our local businesses make days like this possible, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
