The class is for ages 5-10 and runs every Saturday at Mill Hill School between 10-12:30. The class includes dance, drama and LAMDA (this is optional).

Lots of imaginative drama play today with some of our younger students 💭🎭

Today the children loved creating their own costumes and characters. From monsters, to superheroes, there was so much to explore! 🦸🏻‍♂️

JoRo Company is our advanced performing arts class combining dance, drama and LAMDA. It is all about pushing skills, building confidence and reaching full potential.

This term the students have been working incredibly hard, with most learning contemporary dance for the first time.

We are also exploring a Traitors themed script to develop characters and improvisation. They need to pay close attention to detail as they try to work out who the traitor is!

They’re also smashing their LAMDA prep, memorising scripts and bringing their characters to life.

So proud of their progress! 🌟

Last week we were celebrating all our students who took a LAMDA exam and handed out all of their certificates. We are super proud👏🏻

For those unfamiliar with LAMDA, it stands for London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. There are a range of different syllabuses including Acting, Verse and Prose and Public Speaking. Taking part is really beneficial for building confidence, improving public speaking and enhancing communication skills. As we start back for the new term, we wanted to take a look back at last term and share some of our highlights!

Last term was the beginning of a new chapter for JoRo and we are so grateful for all the support we have received!

Highlights
• We welcomed lots of old and new faces to our classes, parties and camps
• We ran 2 great camps, Wednesday and Wicked themes with the Wicked camp being fully booked!
• East Barnet Academy performed in the Barnet Christmas Fayre
• We got new uniform for staff and students
• We ran children’s parties
• Mill Hill Academy did a great end of term showcase
• We celebrated Halloween and Christmas together
• Our students took LAMDA exams and worked really hard (results will be back soon)

We are inviting performers to learn choreography inspired by the films most iconic numbers and through acting explore the powerful themes of friendship, courage and staying true to yourself.
