Sankofa Storytelling Arts

🌍 Today is but for us, it's more than a day - it's an ongoing privilege; being caretakers of mother Earth and the role we play within it. The phrase sankofa embodies this in our opinion.

🌍 An integral aspect of all our programs is to embed the processes of daring to imagine innovative aspirations, sharing ideas, collaborating and developing creative equity - whether it's our adult wellness workshops, holidays schools, estate based projects or homelessness Applied theatre experiences.

🌍 This year, our young peoples Spring holiday school culminated in an immersive exhibition; inviting audiences to watch drama pieces that illustrated themes and the reflective, societal and personal roles we can all contribute to. It's still there - alongside a collection of wonderfully curated books from the talented team within library. There are also zines displayed and the invite for you all to create and to pop them up for display! .camden

🎨 Ivy created a trio of turquoise pyramid friends to illustrate the adage "little ideas can still make a big difference"!

🌍 During the 'Sankofa; Our Power, Our Planet' school, we also decorated personalised canvas bags to include in the exhibition!

🌍 Our two artists (pictured) completed paired paintings too!

🌞This was incredibly fun and impactful!

🌞A with & we delivered an exciting set of day camps that explored wellness, sustainability and the million dollar question: If left in the hands of children, how would they make the environment better?!

🌞Each day camp used an array of creative resources and a bucket full of imagination..

Stories do create community - it’s a lived, collaborative kind of thing..

📖 This Summer we visited and our workshops created a space for perfectly, gorgeous people to create alternative endings!

📖 Our cosy group of participants were from all ages, all (non)genders and mostly strangers but all shared very funny and often creative responses to our to common & ..
