A great finish to see out the Summer. Almost exclusively sparring, but with a real focus upon flow and control. Emphasising timing and accuracy over just bashing each other. Took a while to sink in, but when it did, the difference was huge. This same approach carried over into the free sparring rounds with huge progress from everyone. A lovely way to sign off.

A BIG finish before our summer break with Kali focused circuits. Dealing with the sticks in a variety of different scenarios. Beyond just physical conditioning, getting the weapon motions automating. Just enough time to cram in a game to see the season out on a high. Excellent work, excellent energy.

A perfect session for the holiday vibes, and one that went down a storm. Warming up on the pads, but with intent. Good mechanics, and breathing, always about the breathing. Straight into sparring from then on. Building up from isolated sparring up to full rounds, with a ton of rounds for everyone. Plenty of time for stick sparring to be added to the mix. Great energy, but sparring always brings that out in them

The summer exodus clearly already well underway. The hardcore crew that made it in, gave it their all with circuits, tough enough to test the mettle of any of fighter. So so many punches.
Enough time, and energy in the bank for a couple of high tempo games to see out an epic if not tiny, session.

Building on our progressive indirect attack to the classic ping choi- Gwa Choi drill. The higher grades finding out for themselves how this can progress to compound trapping . Wonderful to see those lightbulb moments flash across their eyes. Lead tool and intercept focused sparring with plenty of rounds to see the evening out 🙏🏻

A more favourable temperature allowed reasonably normal proceedings to be back in place today. Working ranges via Jun Fan to warm up with some excellent slide and steps with lead finger jab. Single stick reviewed our Medio work from last week, which had vastly improved by everyone. Finally time for some sparring, using the principle of lead tools and intercepts, again with Jun Fan at the forefront. Strong work again 👊🏻

A slower pace tonight, giving the chance to work those finer details, often overlooked in the pursuit of speed and power. Footwork and entries to warm up, onto nuanced work in single stick, ending with range work using the cross as the focus. Excellent session

A lovely session. The heat forcing a slower pace, a pace that let us really work the motions and mechanics at a deeper level. Loosely based around Jun Fan again, with a focus upon balance. Controlled kicks, and developing the principle of intercepting via both fist and foot. More figure 8 work single stick, all reps gloriously called out in unison
