Jake is a Level 3 ECB coach with extensive playing and coaching experience in both Australia and the UK. He boasts a distinguished career, including over 20 years and 300 wickets in New South Wales Premier Cricket first grade, alongside significant contributions to English club cricket. Highlights: Level 3 ECB Coach, over 20 years in New South Wales Premier Cricket (Australia), over 300 wickets in NSW Premier Cricket first grade, played for and coached Sutherland DCC (Australia), and played for Ansty and Normandy CC (UK).

Introducing Will Purser #96 A right-handed batter and right-arm medium-pace bowler whose cricketing journey began at Heywood Cricket Club. After representing Lancashire at age-group and Second XI level, he went on to play Minor Counties cricket for Staffordshire and Cumberland, as well as representing the Minor Counties Combined XI.

His wider club career has included ten years with Firwood Bootle, spells with Longton and Clitheroe, and playing as the club professional for Baxenden.

Will is also a playing member of Marylebone Cricket Club and has represented MCC in fixtures and tours in the UK and overseas, including the Isle of Man, Belize and Iceland.

Having returned to Heywood, where his family has a long and proud association, Will captains the club’s First XI and helped the side complete a league and cup double in 2025. He was also part of the England Over-40s team in their successful Triple Crown campaign in 2025

Meet Taqi Abbas, #12 an accomplished legspinner from Harold Wood CC, who has been garnering attention in the cricketing world with his outstanding abilities. With an impressive 10,000+ career runs to his credit, numerous accolades, and a reputation for outsmarting batsmen with his astute spin, Taqi is undoubtedly a formidable presence on the pitch. His notable achievements and consistent performances have earned him a loyal following, and we eagerly anticipate his future endeavors in the sport. 🏏️

Introducing Richard Sims. 🏏

Raised in Zimbabwe, Richard represented his country in ODI cricket before carving out a remarkable career in English club cricket with Swardeston CC — winning three national titles along the way. He made his Zimbabwe ODI debut in 2002 after featuring for Manicaland from 2001 to 2004, and once shared in a record 314-run opening partnership against Matabeleland.

In first-class cricket he has played 21 matches, scoring 1,325 runs and taking 30 wickets. Now Head of Sixth Form at Norwich School, Richard brings genuine international experience, proven match-winning ability, and the kind of cricketing intelligence that only comes from years at the highest level.

Introducing Steven Naylor. 🏏

A right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler with a distinguished Minor Counties record, Steve has represented Huntingdonshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire across the Minor Counties Championship and List A competitions — including appearances against Ireland.

As England Over 40s' Commercial Lead, Steve is one of the key figures behind the organisation both on and off the field. On it, his 2025 display against Ireland — claiming 2 wickets for just 5 runs — served as a reminder of how effective he can be when the conditions suit him.

A cricketer, an administrator, and an ambassador for everything this squad stands for.

Introducing Jayden Levitt. 🏏

A former Wiltshire and Unicorns List A batter who now captains Bromsgrove CC, Jayden is one of the most prolific run-scorers in English club cricket. He has accumulated over 19,000 career runs at an average of 41, including 46 centuries — with his 2025 season delivering a remarkable average of 74, marking him as a batsman truly at the peak of his powers.

His experience of representative cricket, sharp competitive instincts, and exceptional form in the lead-up to this tournament make Jayden one of the most dangerous top-order threats in the England Over 40s squad.

Introducing Sean Heather. 🏏

A prolific all-rounder and one of the most consistent performers in the Sussex Cricket League, Sean made headlines in 2005 when he scored a record-breaking 1,082 runs in a single season. A stalwart of Middleton CC, he has gone on to represent England Over 40s with distinction — most recently scoring an unbeaten century (100*) against Wales in 2025.

In eight matches for England that season, he amassed 303 runs at an average of 60.60, confirming what those in the Sussex cricketing world have known for years: Sean Heather plays his best cricket when the stage is biggest.

Introducing James Hamblin. 🏏

Few players in this squad carry the professional pedigree of James Hamblin, who represented Hampshire from 2001 to 2004. A right-handed batsman and medium-pace bowler, he toured South Africa with the British Universities cricket team in 1999 and made his mark in county cricket — including a Man of the Match performance in Hampshire's inaugural Twenty20 match.

In first-class cricket he scored 440 runs at an average of 27.50 and took 14 wickets, while his List A record reads 656 runs and 28 wickets at 32.39. His ability to contribute in all three departments makes him an invaluable member of this squad.

James arrives in Guyana as a player who has been there, done it — and still has plenty left to give.

Introducing Ben Frazer. 🏏

A genuine match-winning all-rounder who has given years of exceptional service to both Harpenden CC and the England Over 40s squad. A right-arm off-break bowler and right-handed batsman, Ben represented Hertfordshire in Minor Counties cricket for close to two decades and also played for Middlesex Second XI.

He was part of the England squad at the 2024 IMC Over-40s World Cup in South Africa and delivered one of the standout individual performances of the 2025 season: 43 runs from just 20 balls and 3 wickets for 15 runs against Ireland.

Experience, versatility, and a knack for the big occasion — Ben heads to Guyana ready to do it all again.

Introducing Ryan Canning. 🏏

A wicketkeeper-batsman with an outstanding first-class pedigree, Ryan brings a level of professional experience that is rare at any level of cricket. Representing Western Province, Cape Cobras, and Boland in South Africa, he accumulated 5,084 first-class runs at an average of 37.38 across 105 matches, including nine centuries and 29 fifties, along with 318 catches and 27 stumpings. He also featured in 68 List A matches, scoring 1,521 runs at 32.36.

His 2025 season for England Over 40s underlined that the quality remains: 133 runs in three innings at an average of 66.50, with a highest score of 83 against Scotland.

Calm, assured, and ruthlessly effective — Ryan is one of the most complete cricketers in the squad heading to Guyana.
