Strong glutes are not just about “toning” the lower body. They help support your hips and lower back, improve your posture and mobility, and give you more confidence in everyday movements like walking, running, lifting, climbing stairs and balancing on one leg.

In Pilates, we focus on mindful activation, precision and control - helping you connect to the muscles you are working, rather than letting other areas take over.

These exercises are taken from my Lower Body Strength with Ankle Weights class, filmed at sunrise in beautiful Portugal. We use gentle resistance, precise technique and intentional movements to build strength, endurance and stability through the glutes, hips and legs.

A little behind the scenes from our recent filming days in the countryside. 🌿

This beautiful spot became the setting for my new 7-Day Pilates Series - Move Well for Life.

Small movements in Pilates can be surprisingly powerful.

When we reduce the range and move with precision, there is often less room to rush or compensate - and more opportunity to feel where the work is really coming from.

These small, focused movements can help build strength, stability and awareness, while creating a deeper connection to your body.

Sometimes, less movement helps us feel more. 🫶

Posture is not just about standing up straight.

It is about building the strength, awareness and support that helps you feel more upright, stable and confident in your body.

These exercises are taken from my Upright & Strong - Standing Pilates with Long Resistance Band class, a 25-minute full-body standing routine with a focus on posture, balance and alignment.

The resistance band adds gentle challenge and feedback, helping you connect to the centre, back and hips - the areas that support you through the day.

August is almost here. ☀️

Inside the membership, you don’t just get access to a library of classes - each month I also create a movement calendar to help guide your practice. Every calendar is carefully curated to give you a balanced week of movement, with Pilates, yoga, strength, mobility and rest woven together in a way that feels supportive and sustainable. It is there to help you stay consistent, keep moving, and make it easier to show up for yourself. And of course, it is flexible. You can follow the schedule, swap classes around, or adapt it to what your body needs.

For August, I have included our 7-Day Joyful Pilates Series - seven uplifting classes to nurture your body and mind, helping you feel stronger, calmer and more confident. And of course, every Monday your new class is being released. :)

If you enjoy practising in the morning, you may have noticed that your body can feel a little stiffer when you first arrive on the mat.

These movements are taken from my Wake Up Pilates - Rise & Flow class, filmed at sunrise in beautiful Portugal.

We gently mobilise the spine and joints, connect to the breath and deep core, and let the body wake up gradually through flowing movement.

A lovely way to begin the day feeling more open, energised and connected.

There are many versions of an exercise.

In my classes, I always encourage you to choose the option that works best for you in that moment.

Some days your body may need something gentler.
Some days you may feel ready for more challenge.
Both can be part of a strong, supportive practice.

Adapting is not failing - it is learning to listen, choose well, and move with care. 🤍

Happy 4th birthday to the Pilates & Yoga with Katja membership platform.

Four years ago, I took a little leap of faith and created this online space for us to move together - and since then it has grown into such a warm, supportive and encouraging community. A place where we can move together from home, from holidays, from busy weeks, quiet mornings, tired days and everything in between.

Before the platform, and before the online classes, I had already spent many years teaching real people in real life - and I have now been teaching Pilates and yoga for over 22 years. Every class I create online still comes from that place: from working with real bodies, real questions, real challenges, and real lives.

Over the past four years, I have loved creating classes, monthly calendars, series and challenges for you. But more than anything, I have loved seeing this community grow.

Some of you have been here from the very beginning. Some of you joined more recently. Some of you move with me on the platform, some on YouTube, some in live classes, and some simply stay connected from afar.

However you are here, thank you! 🙏

Thank you for your trust, your kindness, your messages, your feedback, and for showing up on the mat with me. 🫶

I feel very lucky to have you here.

With love,
Katja x

Balance is more than standing on one leg.

It helps us build strength, stability, coordination and confidence - so we can feel steadier and more capable in everyday life.

A little balance work, practised regularly, can make such a big difference.🫶
