Last week's junior tournament was made of a smaller group than usual, but a familiar one with players who share the court every Monday, who know each other’s games, habits, and patterns almost too well. Maybe that’s why it quietly turned competitive from the very start. No big noise, just focus, long rallies, and everyone digging a little deeper than usual.

Point by point, you could see the effort building. And by the end, tired legs, a few smiles, and that shared feeling of having really worked for it. Emilian took the win this time, with Alex close behind in second, but both very well earned 👏

A cracking day at our Adult Super Series the other week! This time, we played with advantage scoring (which meant a few deuces went on for what felt like a small lifetime), but we got through it and finished right on time. Proper tennis.

Great to see some new faces in the mix too! Arjun played brilliantly to take 2nd place, looking every bit ready for the step up to the advanced class, while Tien showed real intent and is clearly up for pushing beyond beginner level. Big well done to everyone for taking on the challenge and getting stuck in. 💪

Here's Coach Hiroe with our Red kids after a really exciting day at the Super Series tournament. For some of them, it was their first ever tournament, so there were definitely a few nerves at the start, but they settled in, enjoyed themselves, and gave the challenge a real go.

It was also also so nice to have some of the juniors from our program helping out as referees, which was a huge help on the day. Hope to see more of our Reds in the next tourneys!

The Brent team came together for our Q1 in-person at Dollis Grill, just a 10-minute walk from Gladstone Park. It was a great chance to align on the term ahead, share what’s working, and agree next steps, all focused on delivering better tennis for everyone on court. Can't wait to share whats's ahead!

Meet Joanna and Thomas, who first crossed paths online back in 2011 on a now-defunct dating site. They’d both played a bit of tennis when they were younger but never very regularly. That changed when one of them started taking lessons with the NTA—then came a birthday present with a message: a new tennis racket for Jo, and a not-so-subtle hint that it was time to start playing together.

These days, tennis is their way to move, unwind, and step outside the routine of everyday life—doing some exercise, getting outdoors, and losing themselves in a game that has nothing to do with work or chores.

As they put it: “They say ‘love means zero’ in tennis, but I’d have to disagree. Our games are pretty harmonious, but that’s probably because neither of us is overly competitive.”

Roses are red, violets are blue, love starts at 0 and ends in “I’ll keep playing with you.”

Brent coaches on tour (to the padel court)! Our coaches swapped tennis lines for glass walls and took on a padel challenge—plenty of laughs, some surprisingly decent rallies, and a big boost for team spirit.

Safe to say… they'll be back for round two. 💪
