Come along for a soothing afternoon of music and yoga movement for the whole family.

Nothing like a toddler yoga picnic at to finish off a morning of yoga and mindfulness for toddlers and guardians. I love how they help me bring the plates out and lay it down to share together - all while the parents are relaxing in Savassana with blankets and eye pillows! For our Kids Afterschool Classes Week 1 of the Autumn Term has been about Similarities and Differences.
Using questioning skills the children have found out more about their similarities and differences with the focus being what we can't see. I have been amazed by some of the answers they have given to 'what we all have in common' - from 'hopes and dreams' to 'all starting life as a baby' - such a great insight into how they think! And great to get them digging deeper and discover their inner world.
We discussed what union Yoga is referring to and how the breath connects our mind and body. Shaking our bodies to the music and stopping to breath.
Our yoga story and flow brings the movement and control element and games have made it all super fun! All in all - a great week. Next week is about active listening.....what's that?

It's been great to see the children back in our Yoga and Mindfulness classes this term! We've added two further classes to our offering at Betty Layward School with another Toddler class starting after half term on Tuesdays at SOMA Lab. The journey starts from our toddler parent Yoga & Mindfulness classes for kids up to 4 years old. Moving through to after school classes and holiday clubs for kids between 5-12. Multi-sport circuits is a versatile workout for parent/guardian alongside one child aged 6-16 years where team work makes the dream work.
