Welcome to Clapham Cycle

Each week we host rides heading out to the beautiful countryside of Surrey, Kent, Windsor Park, Richmond Park to name a few. It’s important to note that this is not a serious, competitive cycling club. We do some challenging rides, but it’s as much about building a social group and having fun as it is the cycling. Whilst this is a new Meetup group, we have actually been r

unning rides in a different group for over a year in London. If you are new to distance cycling, or are worried about your pace, we encourage you to attend our Sunday Rides first. These run most weeks and typically it’s no more than a couple of laps of Richmond Park. This is a great way to improve your fitness, get to know the group, and get some advice on our Saturday rides. Our more challenging rides, between 35 - 70 miles and sometimes quite hilly. These are hosted every week, and range in difficulty and pace. Sunday Rides

Want people to train or keep you company on a sportive? Many of our members are signed up for the likes of Ride London, London to Brighton, Dunwich Dynamo etc. We plan meetups beforehand prior to the events and have a whats-app group if you wish to do some extra training in addition to the normal rides. Pace Groups

We will never allow more than 10 people in a group, so we if have more than one leader we will split into two or three groups. We will then split the pace the best we can, the faster riders in group 1 and so fourth. So 1 leader equals 10 cyclists, this is why you will see wait-list for a while until another leader confirms. Our rides are getting very popular, please only RSVP if you are serious about coming. There is nothing worse than having no-shows and then people on the wait list missing out. - An experienced road cyclist

- Good knowledge of Kent & Surrey

- Experience in leading rides

- A GPS device

It’s taken us some time to find the strength to write this.

Three weeks ago we received the devastating news that our beloved shop manager, Irene, passed away.

Irene was part of Clapham Cycle for two and a half years. She joined us as a mechanic and, through hard work, passion and pure determination, worked her way up to Store Manager. She was brilliant at her job, customers adored her and the team relied on her, but she was so much more than that.

She was a ray of sunshine in the shop. She made us laugh every day, carried endless charisma and confidence, and above all had the biggest heart. Irene treated everyone she met with kindness, compassion and warmth.

The past few weeks have been the toughest in the history of Clapham Cycle. While we are still wiping away the tears, we are also incredibly grateful we had the privilege to know her. She will always be part of our shop and will live on in our hearts.

A huge thank you to our team who have kept things going during this time, to our customers, club members and suppliers for their support, and especially to her family and her partner, Angelica

Rest in peace Irene. You will never be forgotten. ❤️
