gym food work seems to be a pattern at the moment. . .

first gym session of 2024 done ✅

no pressure to do anything in particular, just enjoyed moving my body and actually feeling energised going into my shift 🚑

it’s been a wild year to say the least. started the year by joining a cycling team after 4 months from first riding a bike. met some amazing people along the way. ended up having surgery a week after my first ever race just as we entered the season. completed the london - brighton three weeks later. had a rocky time off the bike so took it slow. and now I’m back and ready for turbo training before next season because as you can see it’s not quite what I would call fair weather rider conditions . . .

Tuesday Motivation

I have been very motivated recently, but all my drive has been going into studying and exams for my new job 🥺

With just 6 exams left, I’m hoping to be able to get back on the bike and have more evening time etc to get on the bike or work out 💪🏽

I’m currently being driven by my father (on Father’s Day) to London for the London to Brighton bike ride (top quality dad behaviour).

When I found out my surgery was pushed back by two weeks, I definitely considered whether I would be up to the London to Brighton bike ride.

For so many, this is a walk in the park ride that’s a normal afternoon ride, for some it’s a marathon. For me, it’s having the confidence to do something by myself, for so many people in need. It’s also a stepping stone to throwing myself into everything prior to today (maybe a little nap first though).

I may not be racing just yet, but I’m sure loving the supporting for now ☺️

as some people already know, I have recently had diagnostic laparoscopic surgery which I am now recovering successfully from.

very kindly, gifted me a sample pack of their fully flushable (yes wrapper and all) pads for post surgery ❤️‍🩹

made from cellulose plant fibres, so far they have helped the environment by saving 4,122kg of micro plastics from our waterways, and 4,580kg of period waste from landfill 🥂
(I don’t know about you but this blew my mind, and that’s what one small company have saved, so think about how much still goes into our waterways and landfill)

most women cannot escape using period products and especially using ones that aren’t good for the environment, being mass produced they are a lot more cost efficient, work better for people with heavy periods or gynaecological problems and are what the world of women’s health is used to.

so if you feel like you can spare the extra change, for one about less coffee out a month, or you just want to give it a go, even for one month (which can still make a massive difference) try FLUUS, see you think. no more praying for a bin in every toilet you use hey!
