South London Orienteers (SLOW) are an orienteering and running club based in south London. Our members are based all over the south London area, with a particular concentration in the Kingston/Wimbledon/Richmond areas. We also have quite a few members in north London, and also in Surrey (Dorking, Guildford etc.) Club members range from complete novices to international level orienteers. We are affiliated to British Orienteering, the sport’s national governing body, and are Clubmark accredited.

Well done to those who braved the heat at Burgess Park yesterday (the hottest day in May on record no less)! Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable run through the park.

The day was also a continuation of the celebrations for our club's 50th anniversary year. There was a wonderful birthday cake made by Iris, cut by two of our founding members Mike and Charlie πŸŽ‚

What a cracking Easter weekend in Perthshire at the JK Festival!

1. Sprint bronze for Simon (M21E) and gold for Abi (W45).
2. Fun sprint courses around Perth.
3. SLOW 1-2 in M21E Middle (Simon and Ralph). Also SJ 3rd (W40L) and David overall JK Champion (M80L) winning both the Middle and Long races.
4. Scottish weather, featuring snow blizzards during Day 3. ❄️
5. Beautiful snowy arenas.
6. A tremendous 10 SLOW relay teams.
7, 8, 9. Runnable and open terrain for some exciting relay racing and spectating.
10. A great weekend spent with club mates. πŸ™‚

Success at the British Relay Championships at Margam Country Park!

The previous day's medalists Diane and David teamed up with Don to form Team SLOW Owls and won a bronze medal πŸ˜€

Team Mount SLOWdon, SLOW Storm and the joint-club junior ad-hoc team also had great results.

On Saturday 16 SLOWies competed at the British Long Championships in South Wales. There was a real mix of weather, from sunny blue skies, hail showers and heavy rain!
