Learning new skills
Here I am being taken through a boxing session by
I have an interest in the skill, technique and fitness side to boxing and think it’s a great way to exercise while learning self defence and technique in a new skill.
This session was my first session doing proper combinations and working on pads with someone and I loved it, made me want more. I know my technique needs work but that comes with time and staying consistent with what you are doing.
Never be afraid of trying something new, you may love whatever you try, give something new a go and see what you think.

I’m a PT and by no mean’s am I perfect.
One of my biggest struggles is my confidence within my body, this is a big thing for me, i am slowly building that confidence everyday with the changes that i have made. Better eating habits, consistent gym sessions, starting to swim 1-2 times a week, meal prepping.
I talk a lot about body positivity and my struggles to clients to support and help them but never really pushed myself to be better at times. After seeing what I didn’t like on myself, picking on the bad parts more times than I wanted, i thought to make a change for the better for myself. I want to help/support others but also want to inspire others to be better for themselves and show how exercise can help you not only in a physical way but for your mental health too.
I found help, support, confidence from friends, seeing how well all my clients have done, and finding the love to train again.
I got down about how i look in the mirror or in photos, I didn’t like the look of my stomach or my chest, but that’s okay as it’s acceptable to see and understand changes in your body. Once you realise that you will then become more motivated to make changes in your diet and lifestyle to become a version of yourself.
Everyone tells me how they want to get beach body ready, but my body is beach ready, my body is beach ready so please don’t think yours is any different. Yes there is always room for improvement but make sure you make that improvement for yourself. I am happy with my progress and seeing my results in my gym sessions, in my body and in my confidence, I can do it, so can you.
✅Hitting achievable goals ✅
This is me dumbbell chest pressing 34kg for 2 rounds for 8 reps in my last chest sessions. This has been a goal of mine for a while, due to injuries, I Have had to rebuild the strength in my shoulder to be able to hit these weights again, it has taken some time but by me setting our smaller achievable goals leading up to this. It has been made a lot easier.
Think of it like a ladder. Each run of a ladder is a small achievable goal that you can target each week to hit before reaching your overall goal, this helps you to see the progress that you do make and gives you a bit more motivation each week to achieve something new that you couldn’t do before.
Don’t limit yourself to what you can do, set out smaller goals for you to achieve for you to reach your main goal.

Muscle build Monday
Chest (push exercises)
Today’s muscle build comes in the form of a chest push session. A variety of exercises you can do but these are the ones I wanted to focus on as they are the most common ones people do.
Exercises include:
Dumbbell chest press
Dumbbell incline chest press
Bench press
Incline bench press (smith machine)
Chest finisher:
Standing press (focusing on the squeeze of the chest)
Press ups
When doing these exercises focus on technique over how much weight you do, build up on the weight over time and with doing so will increase your strength.
Workout Wednesday
Barbell workout
This week we have focused on a barbell workout for you to do or look at, it shows that you only need one piece of equipment to train your upper body and this can be done at home as well as in the gym.
Workout:
Squat - shoulder press
Upright row
Bent over rows
Bicep curl
Overhead tricep press
You can do these exercises as a timed circuit or reps, and can be done individually for rounds instead.
These are all simple and easy exercises for you to target your upper body. You can add floor chest press as well to help target your chest but for this workout targets all areas of upper body.
