Ilford Knight Riders CC VS London Braves CC

The cricket match between Ilford Knight Riders CC and London Braves CC took place on Sunday, 11th June 2023 at the Admirals Cricket Ground in Chelmsford. The weather was hot and sunny, and the ground conditions were favorable with a swift outfield.

London Braves CC won the toss and elected to bat first. Their captain, Moin Arefin, led from the front with a solid innings of 68 runs off 54 deliveries. However, early wickets fell, with Shohel Parvez and Mohammad Haulader departing cheaply. Suzan Rahman contributed 41 runs, while Fahad Sami played a magnificent knock of 100 runs off just 79 balls, including 12 fours and 2 sixes. Saif Hossain provided a quickfire innings of 27 runs off 13 balls at a staggering strike rate of 207.69. Ashik Rahman remained unbeaten on 44 runs, and Iftekhar Muntakim contributed a quick 14 runs towards the end. London Braves CC concluded their innings with a formidable total of 356 runs in 40 overs.

In the second innings, Ilford Knight Riders CC faced a tough challenge to chase down the target. Tapan Patel got off to a brisk start, scoring 12 runs off just 4 deliveries. Chand Chouhan played a brilliant innings, scoring 84 runs off 61 balls to keep the hopes alive for Ilford Knight Riders CC. However, apart from Chouhan and Syed Ali (25 runs off 25 balls), none of the other batsmen managed to reach double figures. Ilford Knight Riders CC were bowled out for 184 runs in 23.4 overs, falling short of the target.

Among the bowlers for London Braves CC, Mukid Miah and Moin Arefin picked up two wickets each, while Iftekhar Muntakim and Suzan Rahman took one wicket apiece. Abdullah Masud stood out with an impressive bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 9 runs in 2.4 overs.

Fahad Sami was named the Man of the Match for his brilliant century, while Abdullah Masud was recognized as the Impact Player of the Match for his excellent bowling display.

Overall, it was an exciting match with London Braves CC emerging as the winners, thanks to the strong batting performance and effective bowling efforts by the players.

London Braves regains momentum with a stunning victory against West Essex, winning by 118 runs in a thrilling encounter.

Under the sunny skies, Braves captain Moin Arefin won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair set a solid foundation, scoring 50+ runs in the power play overs. Moin contributed 37 runs, while Parvez added 30 runs. However, a sudden batting collapse saw Braves lose 6 wickets for fewer than 30 runs, leaving their prospects dim.

Yet, the dynamic duo of Abdullah Al Masud and Sazeeb Rafith had other plans. With an aggressive batting approach, they counter-attacked the West Essex bowlers and turned the tide in Braves' favor. Their brilliant display propelled the team to a formidable total of 292 runs in 40 overs. Sazeeb's impressive knock of 67 and Abdullah's unbeaten century (104*) marked their maiden half-century and century for the Braves, respectively. Abdullah's blazing hitting included 7 sixes and 9 fours, leaving the West Essex bowlers struggling.

In response, West Essex started strongly, scoring 82 runs in the first 10 overs, capitalizing on some loose bowling by Braves. However, captain Moin stepped up and turned the game around by claiming 4 crucial wickets. Abdullah joined the party, grabbing 3 wickets, while Sazeeb also chipped in with 2 wickets.

The victory showcased a commendable team performance by the Braves, boosting their confidence after a challenging start to the season.
