Always learning……….
I’m currently away on another cycling mechanic course. Part of the course is to build wheels above the British Standards. Quite pleased with my effort!! Although I am not currently offering wheel building it is always good to have a thorough understanding of how things are put together. This helps to ensure I can diagnose and fix problems as quickly as possible to get you back out on your bike!!

Spokes and cables…………….
So, I’m constantly adding to my tools to allow me to do more and more jobs. Not a glamours haul this week but a useful one. First of all Spokey's and spoke ruler. A buckled wheel or broken spoke can be so frustrating and sometimes unsafe. With these simple tools, it allows me to true wheels and replace spokes to get you back out cycling quickly. Secondly, the blue cable outer can be used to protect internal cables and to help replace internally routed cables. This method saves time and reduces the chance of crossing cables inside the frame.

Now you see it, now you don’t……….
Starting to get a few bikes in for servicing and repairs. Had a really nice by gravel bike today. Small amount of adjustment to ensure the group set was running nice and smoothly. A full degrease, re lubricate and a little bit of polish and it was like brand-new. Love how well it came up!!
Remember a clean bike is a fast bike!!🤣

Bent, twisted or straight…………….
Ever had that niggling problem where your gears just won’t shift smoothly no matter what you try? Have you checked your derailleur hanger? It is important that your drive train runs in a straight line. Any slight variation can cause the chain to slip or feel not quite right. As my tools and experience grow I decided to purchase the DAG22 derailleur hanger alignment gauge from . This will ensure any bike I work on is set up to run perfectly.
