The governmentโs planning to slash the Cash ISA limit and it might hit families harder than they realise.
If youโve been using your ISA to save for holidays, emergencies or short-term goals, this change could make it harder to keep your money safe and tax-free.
I break it all down in my latest blog post and share a few ideas for how to adapt without stress or overwhelm.
๐ Link in bio to read.
And yep, this is part of a new blog Iโve just launched, for high-earning UK families and professionals who want to feel more in control of their money, without spreadsheets or guilt.

THE REAL REASON
Having worked with clients from all walks of life, with finances and financial experience covering a broad spectrum, there are a couple of things that have been consistent across them all;
1 - they all experienced some form of negative emotion around money. Whether it was fear, shame or guilt, it was preventing them from making the most out of their finances, leading them to feel helpless and confused;
2 - they had all tried one or more different ways to manage their money. Whether it was a budgeting technique or the latest no-spend / saving challenge, they consistently failed to see the overall results they were hoping for;
What I've found to be the root cause of all of this is that they've not been able to see their money clearly. Just like planning a journey, having everything laid out in front of you can help you to see problems where they are and address them, making sure that you arrive at your final destination on time.
This is why it's the first thing I cover with my clients in their very first coaching session with me. The sense of relief and excitement at finally being able to make real progress with their money and see a path towards their goals is always a joy to see.

๐ KEEP PERSPECTIVE ๐
With the sunshine finally arriving in the UK (and hopefully staying for longer than a few days) I'm finally starting to feel that summer buzz! Being able to step outside the house with fewer than 3 layers has been totally liberating ๐
Last night, with the excitement for our family summer holiday starting to build in my mind, I took a moment to look over photos from our past holidays and reminisce about 'the good times' and it hit me just how much my kids, my wife and even I had changed, even from just a few years ago.
We're fortunate that everything is well and we continue to move in a positive direction but it's also sad to once again realise that time is fleeting. Chloรฉ will never be the cute, chubby 3yr old again. She may not 'let' me bury her in the sand this summer ๐ญ
As I shared my sadness with my wife, she reminded me that I'll be feeling just as sad when Sophia is no longer 3yrs old.
She's right of course. It's Sophia that I need to bury this summer, not Chloรฉ! ๐โฑ๏ธ

You may be thinking that you're not good with money but did you know that this belief could be the thing that's holding you back from living your best life?
The thoughts we allow ourselves to think, form our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us and over time, these thoughts start to determine our actions which in turn drive our habits ๐ช
If you consistently tell yourself you're not good with money, over time your actions will prove that to be true and the results you see will further reinforce this belief ๐ฉ
No one was born being 'good with money'. They ALL learned it and you can too!
It starts with allowing yourself to believe that you CAN be good with money. Try imagining a future where that's true and give yourself permission to take some small actions to make that future a reality ๐ญ
Read one book, listen to a podcast, shoot me a DM or let's jump on a call...
..it starts with one small action to get the ball rolling! ๐ฏ

I'LL FIGURE IT OUT
A throwback to when my eldest was just a month old and still unsure of whether I was the right guy for the job! ๐
If my life til that point had taught my anything, it was that I was resilient and capable of figuring things out. No parent is born with the knowledge of how to raise their children but much like with personal finance, there are myriad books and online resources available which can give you a wide range of perspectives on an even wider range of topics. But I had better things to do than to sit around reading books on parenting.
Besides, if all else failed, my parents would no doubt offer their guidance, wanted or not! ๐ต๐ป
With parenting, the feedback loop is a pretty short one so you're kept accountable for sticking with it and making it work. But when it comes to managing your own money, the consequence of not sticking with it may not be felt for years, if at all.
I mean, will you ever really know what you've missed out on in life by not managing your money better? Probably not.
But the doors that open when you have control of your finances are limitless, both for you and for your kids. That's why I now advocate parents to manage their finances in a simple yet efficient manner, paving the way to wildly successful futures for future generations of their family.
It helps to first get a handle on what your money is doing today. I have a FREE resource that can help you get started with this.

This is a very common question I get from couples I work with and the truth is, its not the lack of combined finances that's hurting them but the lack of communication.
More often than not, the only time a couple talks about money is when they are struggling with it and to make matters worse, it's usually an adversarial conversation where one partner seeks 'win' over the other.
If you're willing to front-load the pain and work through your finances together now, you can avoid building up years of resentment which over time could kill your relationship.
Here are a few steps you can take:
1๏ธโฃ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ๐ - this doesn't mean you have to have joint accounts but having a way of seeing all of your finances together in one place will make your life so much easier and 10x your transparency around money. Not only that but it keeps you both equally accountable to manage your money in a way that you've both agreed and best of all, it allows you to be as EFFICIENT as possible with the money you have.
2๏ธโฃ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐น๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ง๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ - no one is born with the knowledge of how to manage their money. If growing your wealth and achieving financial stability and success if important to you, you're going to have to work for it. And that all starts with learning.
3๏ธโฃ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐น๐ - the most important are usually where you'll live and when, what your financial freedom number is and what your retirement goals are. Creating shared goals like these will give you a black and white definition to ""being on track"" which means you can spend less time stressing about your progress and more time workling on your relationship
Most of the time, this isn't going to be easy but it takes big commitments to reach your foals and be happy. The sooner you get going, the easier things will be in the long run.
If you're a couple making ยฃ100k or more per year and need help structuring and optimising your finances...

There are times in life when we have to face up to the things we really don't want to do because we KNOW that what lies on the other side will be WORTH it.
This was exactly the decision I faced a decade ago when I had tried everything I could think of to manage my money without using a budget but pretty much all of them didn't work because they looked backwards at what I DID spend rather than forwards and what I CAN spend.
Once I embraced the decision to budget I discovered that there's plenty of flexibility to manage a budget in a way that suits me so I didn't have to be stuck with a dreary excel file unless I wanted to.
Although it took me over a decade to master, the system I use now means that I can live my life outside of a spreadsheet.
Now I get to share this to help YOU with your money. No need to spend a decade figuring things out on your own, like I had to.
If you're ready to take action and start winning with your money...

๐ ALLOW ME TO RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF๐
I'm The UK Money Coach. A second generation Brit who has always been passionate about helping others.
Iโm a husband, father of two and on a mission to reclaim my life so I can do more of the things I love with the people I love!
A decade ago I went through my own financial journey. Despite being a Chartered Accountant and having worked in the finance industry for over 10 years, I still struggled with budgeting and having enough money each month to live my life.
I know what itโs like to feel stagnant and anxious at the thought of falling behind your peers but also stressed because you're not consistently saving for your retirement or your kids.
And I also know what itโs like on the other side. ๐
I spent the better part of a decade figuring out the strategies and actions I could take with my own family's finances to create the life we really wanted. Through each attempt and all the trial and error, I was able to refine my process and now I have a system that works to successfully eliminate all of my money-stress and overwhelm and leave me feeling excited about my family's future.
That system and the lessons I have learned along the way are what I now get to share to help YOU with your money. No need to spend a decade figuring things out on your own, like I had to. Together, we can fast track your path to success and help you create the financial future you want for yourself and your family. ๐ฏ
It all starts with a free 20min call so I can get to know what's going on for you and we can ensure I'm the right person to help guide you through your money challenges.
