Ok… let’s p**s some people off.

And before you come at me in the comments here, ask yourself why you’re feeling so defensive…?

Why are you defending icing your injury so much?

Really?

Do you even remember who told you it was a good idea?!?

Is it because you do it regularly and you believe it does you good? So it’s challenging your beliefs…?

Ok… well - GOOD.

You do you.

I’m not saying don’t ice your damn injuries if you want to, it doesn’t affect me. I’m just telling you what the evidence shows and how best to navigate that. You can listen, or not. Your call.

Is heat better? In most circumstances - yes.

Are there still reasons and occasions to use ice? Definitely.

So jump out from your dug in trench and let’s talk about the science together and figure out what would be BEST for you, together.

I’m open minded if you are.

Hey… work comes first. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe not for most people. But for performers it usually does. You work SO hard to get each job that you *want* to be there to give it everything you have.

But quite often you just feel knackered. Exhausted. Whacked. Call it what you will… a 4 show weekend blues…?

Guess what? Feeling yourself properly effectively ENDS that feeling. Even though it’s so ubiquitous with performer life that you might think it’s just something you have to put up with.

I promise it isn’t. And it doesn’t need to be miserable either!

I don’t just mean gym warm ups. I mean SHOW warm-ups.

It takes 2+ mins… but if you’re not doing it, I’ll go out on a limb and say you’re doing it ‘wrong’ (or at least sub optimally and giving yourself a much greater risk of injury… and reduced performance).

If you’re resisting this idea already… why?

Genuinely - why?

Is it because it’s not what you know?

Oooooh this one might p**s you off…

You know what? Be mad about it.

Because I’m not the one saying it’s true… you are.

Everyone in this business is compared to each other at every step. From headshots, to auditions, to landing the role and video comparison of you the previous person who played it.

We NEED to stand out, get every edge we can to even be seen.

The people working their ass off to fine tune themselves in every way… are often hired. That’s no surprise.

If this post has aggravated you, it’s worth mentioning that I haven’t mentioned appearance once.

‘Hot’ can mean culturally relevant - “hot right now”. So if you thought the other thing… maybe you believe it’s true…?

Look, I don’t know - performers tend to have an attractive quality about them, but I CERTAINLY don’t believe you need low body fat to be hot or hired.

So if you’re considering looksmaxxing for your incel buddies, kindly visit one of the performer coaches who take on 500 members who’ll be more than happy to take your money.

We believe you should be absolutely feeling yourself, functioning at your finest, and working towards your goals.

That… that is what we give our members. Purpose, confidence, and whatever their goal is.
