We had an absolute blast yesterday with some of the team EJO

Big props to all who competed and great to see those who came down to support.

For some it was their first competition, yet everyone went out there and gave it their all.

A few losses, a few wins, but a great day out, with huge smiles, laughs and good amounts of data collected to work with.

Thanks to all for stepping up and repping the team!

No doubt some of us will be back on it for AllStars Capital in a few weeks, IBJJF Europeans in Rome, and then, again, for the English Open to see out the year.

Total medal count was 1xBronze, 6xSilver and 2xGold over 5 competitors on the day.πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ€™πŸ»

Our very own showing us his favourite submission. This cross collar choke from behind the opponents knee shield is one to look out for.

When knee cutting through the guard its often you'll be met with a knee shield. Instead of expending energy trying to clear the knee shield Liam chooses to set a deep cross collar grip and finish the fight from top.

The opponent does nothing and is too late to defend so liam will get the tap. If the opponent tries to defend he could give up the underhook and therefore the pass.

Working the threat of the choke to get the underhook and vica versa is a great way to keep the opponent defending and enabling you to get at least one of the two options available.

Get the guard pass, or get the sub!!!

Do you use the classic Cross Collar Choke? If so, from where do you prefer to apply the submission?

What an absolutely crazy weekend for these two guys literally just stepped off the plane from having competed at the ibjjf venice and straight back into the fire alongside who was competing in 3 different Gi and NoGi divisions.

Mario went on to beat all his opponents over 4 fights, with four absolutely dominant points wins. Even though he won all his fights the scoring system only allowed him to place 3rd overall. The others on the podium finished some of their fights by submission which scores higher in the rules of Grappling Industries.

Huge congrats to Mario for always bringing exciting engagements in competition along with keeping a clean undefeated score sheet on the day. Absolute BeastπŸ€™πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏽

Harrison fought in three different divisions really putting himself out there especially in the All Levels division losing only one fight by footlock against a higher level opponent. Totally dominating the two divisions and therefore managing to secure two Golds and one silver on the day.

Huge props to both these guys for always stepping up and challenging themselves, repping the team and gathering data to always work on, making them better for next time.

This sport isn't easy.....! You can only achieve success when you put in the hard work and consistency. There are No shortcuts!

Last weekend .soper7 and flew over to the beautiful Italy for the Venice Jesolo International Open.

They all cane up against some serious opponents and tough battles in both Gi and NoGi.... after a weekend of some tough rounds and exciting performances the boys managed to achieve 1 x Gold, 1 x Silver and 2 x Bronze medals.

The adults division was truly fierce but the boys managed to get onto the podium, whilst Ben 'Benito Mussolini' Ghahi totally dominated his division in masters to become the Venice Champion and supreme dictator on the mats.

They are all back and training again. The hard work never stops, and they are an inspiration to us all, to challenge ourselves each and every day.

I'll keep you posted with this weekends competitions and results at Grappling Industries with straight back into the fire and Harrison competing in Gi, NoGi and Absolutes. Its going to be a hell of a day. Good luck lads, and go have fun out thereπŸ™πŸ€™πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏽

So the boys are off on their next romantic weekend, courtesy of

Guaranteed, some strong battles ahead.... but no matter what the outcome the journey to Venice will have been a game changer.

soper7 will look like a bitcoin millionaire after he bags another Gold, would have learned how to operate a traditional venetian gondola, and would have lost enough weight that he could compete at light feather. He did well to get that pre pregnancy body back. 🫢🏼πŸ’ͺ🏽

Good luck lads, we're all rooting for you. Rest up before the battles commence. πŸ€™πŸ»

If IBJJF did romantic weekends, they'd be the best romantic weekends by far.

How do you prefer to finish your omoplata?

An absolutely amazing and inspirational weekend watching these 3 warriors head onto the battlefield and sharpen their craft.

It really does go to show what hard work, consistency and a passion can really do.

These guys push themselves out of their comfort zone day in day out. But when it comes to stepping up, under the spot lights, and in front of the crowds, they have left nothing to chance and its truly down to the best man on the day.

The performances by all three of our competitors were outstanding, clinical and well executed. It was a pleasure and honour to watch them compete.

One of them even completing a total of 11 fights in one afternoon.

Truly inspiring! Thanks to for having us and putting on a great event. Huge props to all the coaches on the day

Thank you to the warriors on the day for putting on such exemplary performances, and for all the hard work you all put in. .paradeev

Another Subs & Setups! This time it's professor showing us his latest favourite submission that he's been playing with.

For those that know Jack and have had the opportunity to roll with him, you'll know he's not only a whizz at catching subs from the most unexpected positions, but is also a wizard of escaping any position or sub attempt. Then turning it around, to his advantage.

Always expect the unexpected when rolling with Professor Burrell.

The only thing thats guaranteed, is how giving he is with his knowledge, and, that he's 100% all-round nice guy.

They flew over to Paris for a rollantic weekend, and came back with matching medals.

You too can find love through BJJ❀️

Tough adult divisions as always. The IBJJF circuit is totally unforgiving. One misplaced limb, positional imbalance or a fraction too long in execute a transition, could be the difference between winning and losing.

Huge props to .soper7 for stepping up and giving it everything on the day. The performances were fire but just fell slightly short on points on the day.

Down, but definitely not out! We'll be back on IBJJF again throughout the rest of this year. Next event, London Spring Open 13th&14th June!

Back on the Grind. πŸ€™πŸ»
