“There’s a lot of talk in the health space about what alcohol adds to our lives from a connection perspective and whilst I agree it can act as a social lubricant, I disagree that it’s necessary to cultivate a human connection. I believe we should search for connection without alcohol’s assistance, by developing our social skills, having more vulnerable conversations and choosing other activities which stimulate bonding.

Alcohol still has a very real impact on our short and long term health which shouldn’t be downplayed in an attempt to validate its consumption.

With that being said, we’re all adults and we can make our own decisions. However I personally don’t feel like people have gotten a full grasp on how detrimental moderate alcohol consumption can be to your health. Which is why I think it’s important to highlight these truths so that we can make more informed decisions.”
