Awww… the UK Black Business Entrepreneurs Conference has been the best large business event we’ve attended this year to date. What we loved:
1: The focus on what really matters: business… Information driven by data, experience and industry insights.

5. Workshops that truly delivered value and elevated the day. Our go to was … ‘meet the buyer & pitch for success’. We saw our very own Lewisham business woman Nicole pitch & get yesses 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. It is no mean feat; all 6 business did extremely well 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾great to see buyers in the space and giving advice about business readiness to scale.

Last but not least … opportunities to network and explore potential partnerships.

It was our pleasure to listen to our client Deanne Ellis; Founder and Director of Touch The Hem CIC at Lewisham BIPC Women’s Business Forum; sharing her business journey and what ignited her passion for campaigning for an end to Poverty & Hygiene Poverty.

In a week that is not only Celebrating Women In Business; but also The Windrush generation in its 75th year celebrating the tenacity, hardwork and sheer grit of those people who came from the various parts of the Caribbean and against formidable barriers changed the landscape of the UK forever.

Just like those who came before her Deanne is continuing to push through and is absolutely determined to influence change at the highest levels. We continue to support her to take the steps to achieve those goals. There is more to come. Well done Deanne 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Every Wednesday for 5 weeks we were working with a wonderful group of people who signed up for our Building Personal Impact & Resilience group coaching programme. The programme ended on the 26th April and we’re missing this groups amazing energy already.

They were honest, committed and had lots of aha! moments; most of all they have left with
more confidence, strength, courage and wisdom. It’s important to us to thank our attendees for trusting us and for their positive feedback.

“The coaches made me feel safe to share and that was priceless’” said one of our participants. It’s quite humbling!!

We will be running more group coaching programmes and will keep you posted.

It was wonderful to see the turnout at Lewisham’s 2nd Black Led Business forum today at Catford Library. The range of businesses present was incredible. We have exceptional creatives including Digital artists, content creators and filmmakers, food retailers & product developers, recruitment specialists, security firms, caterers, event hosts, event space owners, jewelry makers and more including Community interest companies like Touch The Hem CIC advocating for an end to period poverty & of course coaches like ourselves who are here to support this growing community through this much needed forum. 👏🏾👏🏾 to for hosting and contributing to a fantastic audience of amazing entrepreneurs.

Our very own Saul Roa Herasme, founder of ‘Petit Village’ a unique green grocer in the heart of Deptford spoke on his business journey, the challenges, successes and the road ahead whilst continuing to empowering small farmers from developing countries.
There is such vibrance in the Lewisham business community. If you’re feeling isolated because you have your head down focusing on business. Here are a three things to remember.
1: Take care of yourself. This means eating, hydrating and sleeping well and taking time to step back so you can see how far you’ve come and also you can plan with clarity for the future.

2: Build your network. You may think you’re the only one going through tricky business stuff, but you are not alone. Ask what you may think are ‘silly’ or ‘I should know this but …’ questions. Get a coach to support & challenge you to thrive.

3: Get a library card .. this opens up a host of business related information & resources to you and saves you valuable research time.

When you’re invited to a private viewing of an art exhibition and you’re just wowed, it says a lot about those who have worked so hard to bring this creative, thought provoking and immersive body of work together.

Congratulations to Lison Sabrina Musset & Joseph Ijoyemi for curating the ‘ Our Connection with Water’. Bringing together seven inspiring artists under the umbrella as ‘The Collective Makers’. This sparked discussions about what water means to us other than for drinking or bathing. Water is truly powerful, this exhibition speaks on this beautifully.

The exhibition is at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.
