Right lens fogged up, so could only run anticlockwise in park, I hate when that happens.
Running at the end of a storm was delightful...

Confidence, adaptability, resilience, ability to handle pressure, that on top of being fitter, stronger and more skilled? Who wouldn't want that?

Well that went well. Stockholm Half Marathon....

Quite flat until it wasn't. Lots of elegant buildings and great harbour views. Generous crowds urging on the runners and a laid back big city vibe. One thing stood out: the way the runners seemed happy to hang out together after the race in the park by the start. Must be a Swedish thing because most races I've done people bunk off sharpish. Oh, and hats off to the total legend smoking a cigarette wearing his medal and finishers t-shirt.

Race t-shirt debate. I printed these cotton tees because they're still a flex

I've had some really disappointing race t-shirts that have frankly gone in the bin they were so thin and a bit krepp. Others I don't wear because they're a couple of years old and who wants to look like a sad old phart reliving glory days gone by? These, cunningly, have no year on them and have a certain IYKYK about them that other runners will certainly cotton onto (see what I did there?).

I run in synthetics, sure, but I don't wear them otherwise because I really don't like the feel. The issue about organisers printing synthetic shirts which go straight in the bin is something that does bother me.

So this is my cunning plan. A way of commemorating an achievement without looking too cheesy? Of course if I ever get my hands on a London Marathon t-shirt I will wear it into rags!

I thought this might help my running friends feel a bit cooler as the UK hits 33 C.
I did get onto my second bottle of water during my 11 am run today...

Majestic plant houses and criss crossing the gardens all busting out into spring and then brilliant river views. Minus half a star for the loop into car park tho...

Fitness down the swannee but can report all that lower body strength work in the gym paid off. No limps or tweaks on the walk to the station afterwards.
