When we talk about our definition of love we usually assume straight away that we are talking about the framework of how we love other people.
But this definition of love is about how I love myself, and then other people. Not the other way around.
For a long time ladies, we have been conditioned to love externally and then reap the rewards internally.
This needs to change - copious amounts of research (both psychological and other holistic practices) are showing the importance of self love and what happens to individuals and, as a result, families and societies where self love becomes a priority - including but not limited to:
☀️Healthier decision choices
☀️Richer creativity
☀️More energy
☀️Better choice of life partners
☀️A flourishing family environment
This makes sense right? So why don’t we implement self love more?
Because we’ve been socially conditioned to see self love as ‘bad’ and, as a result, self love has not been taught to us!
Yes - self care routines have - but with underlying messages that by doing self care routines it becomes more likely for other people to love us!
I invite you to make self love and learning HOW to love yourself your priority! 💕

We tend to run in the opposite direction of what we fear. We don’t realise that it is a gift - it is an indication of what is precious to us and our life!
We can use fear as as a tool that pinpoints is to what truly matters in terms of our goals and also we can use fear in terms of what should be a priority in our day or week.
☀️TOP TIP: whatever you face the most resistant to doing in terms of work/ chores do that first! 😊

We tend to approach our goals using statements like ‘I need to do this in order to make ‘x’ happen!’
The problem with this is two fold:
Firstly - saying I NEED to do this is unhelpful. WANTING to do something is far more powerful and fuels our desire.
☀️TOP TIP - in your everyday language replace the word ‘need’ with ‘want’.
Secondly - saying we’ll ‘make’ something happen is super unhelpful language. It adds pressure and urgency to our life and makes us less likely to achieve our goals!
☀️ TOP TIP - replace statements with open needed questions.
Convert ‘I need to make this happen’ into ‘what small steps can I take that will bring me closer to my goals?’
Small, consistent steps are the way forward ☺️💕

I was listening to an interview that Jo Malone have recently - I think Jo Malone is absolutely fabulous and so inspiring, but one thing that she said that I could not completely relate to was that she never said took much notice of other people’s opinions.
This I find difficult to relate to since my childhood programmed me to seek other people’s advice and opinions,
most of it in an unhealthy way.
However I learned through my personal development to trust myself more. How I achieved this was by having a more connected relationship with who I am, learning my patterns healthy and unhealthy, discovering my values, analysing my behaviour in a way that serves me rather than criticises me and my daily rituals of being proactive in being kind to myself.
This inner work has led me to value my opinion about myself and the actions I should take in my life a little more than the circle around me. Nevertheless, I believe to say that my mind has not been changed by other people or I have not been swayed from my orignial thinking and that I highly value other peoples input would be wrong and untrue! What other people think is highly important to me - I recognise different perspective are crucial and I want my views to be challenged and regarded as having value; to be respected. Life is about achieving as much balance as possible. To achieve this balance however, it is important that we recognise that we have the final say over our own life!

These Ted talks are phenomenal at showing how to implement self love into our life!
I think self love can be talked about as being important but it is seldom explained how it is implemented on a practical level.
Brene Brown is my personal hero so found this TED talk to revolutionise my life personally!
I guarantee that her insights will do the same to your life!
I will say that self love is a journey rather than a destination. Please trust me when I say that the small acts are JUST as ( if not more) important that the radical big acts.

Courage is one of things that nobody thinks they have in them until they are in a situation when they need it. And low and behold it is discovered in ABUNDANCE!
What if we didn’t just use our courage in ‘emergency situations’? What if we tapped into it everyday and made it part of our life and our routine?
I know with 💯 certainty that everyone’s life would be richer, more fruitful and more fulfilled.
Matthew McConaughey recently said that he is more afraid of not knowing then failing. Not knowing what could have happened if he had tried!
We should all be more afraid of this than failing because none of us are getting out alive anyways!
Three tips that you can use to tap into your courage today:
💫 Fear is your compass. So whatever you are the most afraid of is the the thing you should do first. This is the thing that will get you close towards your goals!
💫 Focus on the the thing you want not the thing you’re afraid of! Skiers skiing down wooded areas understood this - they focused on the PATH ahead, not the trees! They knew that if they focused on the trees they’d crash into them.
💫 Picture yourself on your deathbed remembering your life. Would you be more or less regretful if chose not to do the thing that requires your courage? This question pinpoints you towards the action that best serves you!

Stress is one of those things that everyone experiences and everyone needs to manage.
This is SO important! We lose our way when we’re stressed - we can’t see clearly and we become overwhelmed.
Step back. Take a breather, zoom out and give yourself love. Because your emotional and physical health is more important than ANY external success.
Also ultimately stress will slow you down…It’s like getting a cold and not listening to your body telling you to slow down and before you know it, it’s turned into flu.
What would happen if you took a day to look after you because I promise if you don’t it will turn into a week later on!
Burnout is REAL. Give yourself regular doses of self love, and you will NEVER burn out!
