🚨 Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber will miss the World Cup due to his groin injury.

Holland have issued the following statement: “The 24-year-old defender has not recovered sufficiently from a groin injury to take part in the World Cup in a medically responsible manner.

“In consultation with the medical staff, it has therefore been decided that Timber will leave the national team’s pre-camp in New York after the game against Uzbekistan. We’re with you, Jurrien.”

🚨Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard on his knee after scoring for Norway in their final World Cup warm-up match vs Morocco: "It felt good. I've been struggling with my knee for a while. I feel like it's starting to ease now and I feel like it's been good for a while.

"My physical shape is good. It was hot out here, but I felt like I was getting better outside."

Newcastle also held talks while Chelsea had shown an interest, though it’s thought the Blues were looking to send the player to sister club Strasbourg.

He told Swedish media: "We didn't get many hours of sleep because we went back to London. After the parade I was a little tired. But it was just extremely fun to experience it.

"I got an extremely high amount of energy from all the fans. It was a special experience that I would love to do again."

🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Arsenal’s England stars are due to report to the Three Lions’ pre-World Cup camp on Saturday.

Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Ebere Eze & Noni Madueke have all been resting following the Champions League final defeat to PSG, though Eze & Madueke have trained in Miami.

They will not play a part against New Zealand in Tampa on Saturday.

“From Arsenal’s perspective, he’s played his role, scored his goals, and the team have won the Premier League and got to the Champions League final.

"He has played most of the games, but he still gets criticism. That’s just the world we’re in, but then you look at him, how much work he does, how he goes about his business, and he’s an incredible character."
