# Eagles Soar Past London Fighters with Noman’s Six-Wicket Masterclass
London Eagles Sunday 1st XI continued their campaign in impressive fashion with a convincing six-wicket victory over London Fighters Sunday 1st XI in the National Cricket League – NCL Championship Gold Division (A) on Sunday 23 August 2026.
From an Eagles point of view, the afternoon belonged to Noman Hossain.
London Fighters had recovered well from 46/2 and looked in a strong position at 113/3, with R Tnz and Forhad Sayem building a useful partnership. But once the Eagles broke through, the innings completely changed.
Noman ripped through the middle and lower order with a superb spell of 6 wickets for just 22 runs from 7.4 overs, including two maidens. His burst helped turn 121/4 into 140 all out, with the Fighters losing their final seven wickets for only 27 runs.
Habib Shiplu was excellent alongside him, returning 2/15 from five overs with two maidens, while Kamran Hossain and Azm Johnny picked up a wicket apiece.
London Fighters were eventually dismissed for 140 in 28.4 overs.
The chase was not completely straightforward. The Eagles lost Azm Johnny for 15 at 23/1 and Rajid Khan for 17 at 42/2, leaving the game nicely poised.
But Habib Shiplu and Apu Chanda settled things down with a vital partnership. Apu played positively for his 33 from 35 balls, striking six boundaries, while Habib anchored the innings with a patient 36 from 79 balls.
Their stand carried the Eagles to 100 before Apu departed, and although Habib later fell with the score on 124, the hard work had been done.
Hossain Mahmud remained unbeaten on 16, with Ehsan Khan joining him at the end as the Eagles reached 141/4 in 30.4 overs to complete a comfortable six-wicket win.
Final Score:
London Fighters CC Sunday 1st XI – 140 all out (28.4 overs)
London Eagles CC Sunday 1st XI – 141/4 (30.4 overs)
London Eagles won by 6 wickets.
Noman Hossain – 6/22
Habib Shiplu – 2/15 & 36 runs
Apu Chanda – 33 runs
A terrific all-round team performance, but Noman’s devastating six-wicket spell was undoubtedly the defining moment of the match. The Eagles walked away with 18 points, while London Fighters took 5 — another strong result in the NCL Championship Gold Division (A).
