Jochem Eenkhoorn didn't get into yacht brokerage through connections. He got in through an unpaid internship, about ten follow-up emails before anyone would even take a call, and a graduation thesis written while working full-time for free.

Today he brokers charters and runs Yacht Charter 101, an academy training the next generation of brokers. In the new Sea Breaks Magazine feature he talks about the mistakes newcomers make (chasing the big brokerages too early, expecting a big commission from day one), why he tells everyone to intern first, and the one sentence that opened every door for him.

After our last gathering in Porto Cervo, we've been quietly working behind the scenes, and here we are with some exciting updates!

Our next event in Monte Carlo is officially confirmed for September 27, during the Monaco Yacht Show. We will be hosting a Yacht Brokerage Masterclass for brokers at the beginning of their careers, as well as for anyone looking to strengthen their knowledge of the industry.

The event will take place at Le Meridien Beach Plaza, Monaco, with Jochem Eenkhoorn .

After the masterclass, we will continue with a networking cocktail, followed by visits to several superyachts, which we are currently working to secure.

We've also finalized our 2027 calendar, introducing two new destinations and a brand-new concept for our summer edition.
